You try to be "eye opening" yet you end your essay on an esoteric conclusion: build a great life and women will come into your life.

Women are NOT going to magically appear only because you lift, eat healthy, go to work, and hang out with friends.

HArd disagree. If you are out living your life and see a girl you genuinely want to say something to without caring about the outcome there is nothing needy about and it 100% helps with your social skills. And there is something that approaching people you want to approach does to your self confidence

I do agree with the writer that you need more in your life than just chasing women and doing cold approaches. Visiting places and hanging around for the sole purpose of cold approaching is indeed needy. Instead, you should indeed try to increase your value as much as possible, as the writer noted. This can be by excelling at your job, having hobbies, dressing well, working out, create a solid social circle where you have fun with as much as possible. Increasing your value should be your main focus.

However, this does not exclude that cold approach doesn't work or is not worth it. True, many/most of the connections you'll have will be low-quality and/or lead to nothing. However, at the end of the day you did have a (fun?) interaction with another human being, and you never know where it leads to.

So he managed to get dates from women who had some interest/attraction towards him but since he didn't like those women and found them "low quality" cold approaching is useless?

But his advice (outside of gym, dress good, discover passions) is to "meet women" (still cold approaching) for the purpose of friendship during the activities he likes doing?

There are suitable places to approach and there are unsuitable places. If you approach in an unsuitable place you are a creep. Maybe a dangerous creep. If you approach in a suitable place then if the woman is single and interested you are free to approach. I grant you it can be hard to know if she is single and interested. Learn to live with uncertainty.
