Have you ever noticed that you have an easier time attracting people who you are not really that interested in, or that things seem to just naturally happen when you don’t care at all? But then as soon as you actually start liking someone or start showing some interest back it never works out?

A common behavioral change is to become more nervous around a person that you like. You feel like you now have something to lose, while before you were indifferent.

This often results in you starting to actively chase the person. You classify the situation as being an opportunity that does not come around too often, and become scared of blowing it. You feel like you need to make things happen ASAP before the chance disappears.

So you start texting the person nonstop, getting upset when they don’t answer you back right away, and pressuring them to spend time with you. But by pushing too hard forward, you actually move further away from achieving your goal. You come off looking desperate and needy. As if you have no other options or anything else interesting going on in your life.

It’s strange when a person that you don’t know that well is already super infatuated with you. This is among the reasons why people lose interest in those that automatically like them too much.

If they don’t feel like they have done something to earn your interest, it can feel too easy. They may wonder if you have standards or are simply desperate. This is especially true for highly attractive people, who are used to receiving nonstop validation from people everyday. They want to feel like they worked and earned your admiration. Often for a reason that is more than just how they look.

In every initial interaction, there is normally a slightly skewed buyer vs seller frame that exists. It is better to appear on the side of the buyer and not the seller. You want the other person to feel good about winning you over.

The ideal long term solution is to become a guy who actually lives with enough abundance in his life that he never really becomes needy around other people. However, on your journey to become such a man, you may need to consciously employ some self-restraint in order to not initially chase people and opportunities away.
