this isn't anything new. telling people that overtexting is bad isn't a new concept or something that hasn't been said here a million times before.

Now I don't want to disagree with what this article is saying, but for younger members of Seddit who are perhaps in high school or even those just entering college, texting is still going to be the preferred mode of conversation for a majority of the girls you see in school.

You don't have to overuse it, maybe just a ping every so often to ask her out, but there is definitely room for texting to build trust and improve your relationship.

I never ask for it…I simply hand her my phone mid conversation. They never ask why, they just take it and put their number in. Simple. You can’t be rejected on something you did not ask for.

Did this come across as... sorta pathetic to anyone else? No offense intended, I'm all for just handing her your phone and expecting her to put her number in because it's ballsy as fuck but doing it with the notion that "if you don't ask, you can't get rejected" feels really counterproductive

Agree with the article and it makes sense, but what age/area do you think this is relevant? I'm in high school so texting is very common.

I agree with this article from my own experience I learnt its better to text less and forget about those wait 2-3 day rules its nonsense. I always text her something the same day of getting their number.

This is seriously nothing new. Has the author even read actual pickup material on texting?

He should read Braddock's Guide to Texting. It's a bit outdated (2010 I think) but still perfectly adaptable to today's texting climate.

After reading this I realized that my girl friend texts me too much and is just too nice for me. I am a good guy but think she can do better then me and well... My interest has been fading and I almost feel like im using her. Going to end it soon.

When first getting to know them I've found it's better to call them first and then after solid communication line is setup then you can text. Text is easier to turn down.

Just because you are bad at escalating with written messages doesn't mean everyone is.

I got my married teacher from "text me about the time of the exam" to "fuck my in classroom" with a night of text escalation. Got girls who were cold during pick up to open up and tell me all about their orgies and beg me to tie her to the bed on our first date without talking face to face.

It may sound like a good idea to stalkers and "read 700 books never approached a girl" wusses on this sub; but for someone with a lot of experience in pickup, this is pretty bad advice reflecting the author's incompetency on others.
