Change your mindset. Thats the first step. If you keep doing what you're doing, you'll keep getting what you're getting.

Whats wrong with dinner and a movie? Our society has completely abandoned anything chivalrous it seems like and deemed it "lame" or "boring".

Approach random girls. That's your best bet. Be alpha. Even if you dont feel alpha, tell yourself you are. This will boost your confidence and kill your anxiety a little.

Approach, tell her how pretty you think she is while making eye contact, ask for her number while maintaining eye contact, and you'd be surprised at how well it works.

Confidence and a positive attitude is everything man. I was in the same boat as you until I stumbled upon this subreddit and started taking peoples advice SERIOUSLY and actually putting it to use instead of reading the same tips over and over and over. Put down the xbox controller and go out and make a change. You have what it takes, you just have a filter in your mind that is telling you you don't. Ignore that filter and go out and have fun.

Girls are everywhere. Make the best out of your options. The mall, starbucks, university, school, grocery stores, wherever. Who cares what people think, you'll be the guy actually getting numbers and girls, they'll be the ones talking a big game but jacking off every night.

As KaptainKid wrote a great post, i will just give a small pointer.

If you are afraid to ask them out because of the reason you stated you are living in the future. Start living in the present. Ask her out because in that moment you want to see her. Sure, make plans for the future with her, but don't think about it. Be in the present. It will reward you in so many ways.

Get out of the house. Turn your computer off, get dressed up the best you can with your current wardrobe, and walk outside. Then figure out what's going to happen next. Do this every day.

People often say some variation of this. No, you would not. Barring the fact that you would miss out on things such as MODERN MEDICINE, this is really just a rationalization (aka excuse).

That being said, take girls out to the things you want to do. If I take a girl out for food, it's because I really, really do want to eat the food at whatever venue we're going for. I've taken girls to arcades. I've had dates where all we did was just walk around a park. It's an opportunity to get creative.

Do the things you want to do. If you don't want to do anything, then get some more experience and see what's out there.

Stop acting like a chode. You don't need to entertain the girl. You just need to get her to a place to talk to her comfortable. Go to some tea/ice cream/coffee place that's close to her. The activity doesn't matter, it's about the talking.

Just do stuff you find fun.

If there isn't anything you find fun apart from what you mentioned, then you may be a little boring, even to yourself. You should find some more stuff that you like doing.

There's a whole wide world out there.

I'm 27 and I'd pay $40,000 to get back the hours I spent on video games from ages 13-21. I don't have that kind of money, but I'd find a way, and I'd pay more if I had it.

Being 18-20 sucks because you can't legally drink at bars etc. I didnt even start going out until I was 20 and got a fake ID to get myself into bars. But aside from that, try to find a club with teen nights or an 18 y/o entry age. If that's not a possibility, most people where I live just get some beer/ other liquor and find a spot to chill and have a good time. Be creative, even if you take a girl somewhere boring like a park, you can make it fun by being creative and trying to have fun with her, then she'll forget all about being in a lame hangout spot.
