Why are they asking for pictures?

No good will come out of it. If you already have plenty of photos on your profile, it’s really disgusting when some rando ask for selfies. Either they want something to masturbate to, or as another comment said, they’re putting a foot in the door and will ask for other things if you agree to this

I'm annoyed by guys asking for social media (roundabout way of asking for photos) or straight up just requesting photos because like you, I have 6 clear photos including multiple full body shots on my profile. If a guy asks for additional photos I just tell him he already has 6 and that should be enough, or just stop responding.

If a guy wants to see what I look like he'll have to set up a date (virtual nowadays) and actually invest 30 minutes of his time into talking to me. If he won't do that, thank you next.

The reason I've been told and that doesn't make sense to me is "to make sure you're who you say"

Literally every guy who's asked me or straight up said they wanted to make sure I wasn't a catfish, was fatter older and balder than his profile photos.

The last guy I talked to on old before jumping ship entirely pushed me for photos. I sent one with the date written on it even though I insisted all my profile photos had been taken the week before. He then sent me a photo of his cat in order to prove he was "a real boy" (his words).

I didn't point out that he didn't prove who he was. And I really should have.

I also think it may be a bit of a control thing. Like he's already making demands, putting you in a situation where you owe him an explanation and must prove yourself before you can be worthy of His precious time and attention.

Just ghost.

I'd agree with what other people said about it feels a bit fishy if you're still at the talking stage and there's not been committment or a date.

So some apps (Hinge, OkCupid) allow you to only send text not images. My personal rule when online dating is that until I've met them in person I don't want to give out my phone number or any social media access (all my accounts are private) for safety reasons. Until then I stay in the app which is text only.

Not had a single bad reaction and I see it as a good "does this guy respect boundaries/ my safety" check. If used in this case it would fade out anyone who's just after special selfies/nudes. Also means I've not received a single dick pic while dating!

They're just trying to weasel their way to nudes or Snap where they can store/orbit you with all the other girls who would definitely sleep with them 🙄 (but of course, they never actually ask you on a date). I've humored these social media and/or photo requests in the past and nothing ever comes of it. They're lazy, unoriginal, attention seeking man-hos. Unmatch and delete. Stay strong. I know there are so many like this.

If you set up a profile with no photos at all or just one then they are probably worried about what you look like. It’s normal to want to know what someone looks like when getting to know them romantically.

If you mean nudes though then yes they are LVM

I don't care for sending pictures or anything before a real connection is established. I don't have social media either. I'll oblige a "yes, I am who I am" picture but anything else is at my discretion. Which is basically nothing unless I see evidence of HV and we have a true connection. The pictures aren't for his pleasure either in a validation or attwntion effort either, they are a symbol of me inviting him more into my world. I purposefully take modest photos or share images that don't even feature my body.

Even with the guy I'm getting to know (6 months or so) he's only received sparse pictures of me, a handful of facetime, etc. If he really wants something he asks because it's not my priority and even then he knows he might not receive it. Nothing sexual or suggestive and I take pride in my photagraphy skills. We're just as eager if not more so to spend time together in person.

How you manage your digital essence and presentation communicates a lot to a HVM. LVMs won't even know what to do with you.

Regardless of what their intentions are, I feel I should not have to explain myself or prove anything to a LVM. It makes me feel like they think I'm a contestant for their personal The Bachelor. The AUDACITY
