Pretty simple except that women are almost mandated to massage men's egos because it's more important that they collectively think of themselves as "good people".

Not all men pt. 2. Straight from the horse's mouth this time proving that all men KNOW. When it comes to gender inequality issues, HVMs acknowledge and seek to minimize the subsequent effects instead of weaponizing them for their own benefit to look good.

This is why men think women are being manipulative when they cry bc they’re projecting.

[–]DoversBlueFDS Newbie[S] 181 points182 points183 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That would explain why, yes. Like the girl in the video said, they view vulnerability as transactional.

And they truly believe they're entitled to violate our boundaries and their actions aren't harmful. So when we're "upset" we're just trying to "control them" and .. not let them do whatever they want to us. The horror.

This explains so much. I never understood why men say stuff like this, now it makes sense.

lundy bancroft talks about this exact thing -- that nearly all abusers in abuser recovery programs will weaponize their treatment and say whatever they need to say to appear like they've changed and have remorse - but the abusers' testimonies rarely line up with the testimonies of their female partners!

this reminds me of the gaslighting that men do when you call them out. i told a man he was a narcissistic abuser who projects his own behaviours onto other people. a few days later he began berating me with the exact same words under the guise that he was somehow the victim. it’s why i am wary of these kinds of men going to therapy or seeking recovery. they learn key words and use it against you.

That's why we are advised to not confront narcs and abuser head on - we grey rock immediately. Narcs are perpetual victim in their mind and anything you say to challenge that bubble will be met with vengeace. They will do anything in their power to get back at you.

The best way to spread the truth is to talk to other people who aren't flying monkeys and is open to listening to you. They may or may not believe you but they notice something is very wrong with the narc - that's the people you want to talk with.

I went to therapy with my abuser and he put on a clinic! Started crying talking about how bad his childhood was and that he knew that he’d failed me. He was sobbing and everything and I was shocked and fuming! He tried to hold my hand but I was so mad I recoiled from him, to which our male therapist said: “He needs comfort from you.” I was so pissed I never set foot in that place again and will never ever see a male therapist again.

Wow. This makes so much sense. I've always wondered why so many men throw a tantrum online about how they were "vulnerable" and it got them nowhere in a relationship. It makes so much more sense when you realize it's because they see the whole exchange as transactional. Which wouldn't even cross our MINDS because how often are we vulnerable with men who just gives us a "that sucks" and a subject change? So. Often. They're so fragile that they honestly can't handle a fraction of what women just see as normal.

[–]Platipus6FDS Disciple 71 points72 points73 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They can't even act normal. They swing from one extreme to the other and blame women for our correct reactions to such behaviour.

"I showed emotion to my girlfriend and she broke up with me! They hate vulnerability!"

He had a gallon of snot and a complete nervous breakdown in the kitchen for 2 hours over not getting a hardcopy of the latest game he wanted.

A couple of tears and blow your nose during the sad part of a movie to indicate you understood what you were watching is fine dude.

this is pretty much what happened when women asked men to fix the problems they caused by creating the patriarchy and they decided to paint their nails and cry more. like, men crying more is not the amazing thing they think it is. women are still dying at the hands of your bros.

Calling it petulant vulnerability is just chef's kiss. It's so accurate.

I love that these discussions are happening in places like TikTok. Sis came armed with receipts and I don't know a single woman who can't relate to any of the examples given about this behavior. Men really seem to think vulnerability is transactional and they've weaponized it.

A lot of TikTok content is super insightful regarding feminism, gender dynamics, and abuse in relationships.

I was stunned once I got a handle on the algorith. I never thought it'd be easy spotting FDS-like content in the wild. I wonder if it's the influence of Gen Z or just a cultural reckoning moment about to unfurl.

We'll see what FDSers who live in first world countries have to report. Ain't nothing happening like that where I live. Women as early as their 20s love playing a submissive, domestic catch waiting to be wifed up.

Edit: It also makes you ponder about how the common redditor treats FDS. Stuff being said here is also prevalent across other platforms. There are multiple videos which criticize paying for 50/50 expenses. I don't recall women who make such videos on TikTok name-called as femcels or gold-diggers there. I'm genuinely excited for insidious misogyny to be seen for what it is in plain daylight.

This is great but be careful sharing directly from TikTok. We can see your username there!

Oh no. Can you? I thought by copying the link, it wouldn't do that. I'm not sure how to fix it.

[–]ello-mottoFDS Apprentice 44 points45 points46 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Copy the video URL. (It's usually a shortcut version).

Paste it into a browser.

Once you got the expanded URL version, delete EVERYTHING after the = symbol after the video ID number which is over 15 characters long.

It should look like this:

I just came to the realization that men will use anything to weaponize... Even something as simply as one word, like "thank you". To shut you up and dismiss what you say for example... I could go on.

I wish I had this term when I was dating a porn addict. This was exactly the perfect description of his manipulation and abuse tactics. So glad women are becoming more and more aware of these kinds of strategies.
