Often times when I bring up misandry, it's like the other person thinks I'm insinuating that misogyny doesn't exist or shouldn't be addressed. Sexism isn't a zero sum game. Misogyny and misandry can both be problems and really it's not difficult to address both misogyny and misandry at the same time.

Misandry led to my sexual assault by my ex-girlfriend. When feminists say “misogyny leads to rape, misandry leads to hurt feelings” they are forgetting the fact that so many women feel entitled to a man’s body because “men are the oppressor, they can’t be raped like a woman!”

Acknowledging misandry would get in the way of the threat narrative against men.

People care about women more, to what extent it is nature vs. nurture I don't know, but it is observable. If people think women are at risk or in danger then they will fall over themselves to defend them; If a government wishes to pass legislation, they need just claim it will protect women from the current threat, whatever that may be, and anyone who disagrees will be one of them, the bad people, the threat to women.

This is the goal, if we're too busy fighting each other then we wont have time to stand against our common enemy. (There's also a hell of a lot of money in it, if you can get the right grift going...)

I don't entirely agree with this article. I think misogyny is real too. It's not as prevalent as feminists say.

The claim is always:
"Misandry is reactionary"
"Claims of Misandry are used to downplay the reality of Misogyny"
"Misandry hurts feelings, Misogyny KILLS women"

etc

The idea of course is clear, to paint Misogyny as a massive threat and to downplay anything which threatens that narrative.

Even worse is when they will go on to claim how Misogyny is "Systemic" while denying that Misandry is in anyway, shape or form "Systemic"
It not hard to take a look at how many of our systems in western countries have deeply rooted Misandry..

Criminal Justice for example where men are flat out 50% more likely to receive a jail sentence than women are and, when they do they often receive a jail sentence that is on average 60% longer than what a woman would get for the same crime.
This is clearly out and out based on Misandry. but feminists will claim "That's just the Patriarchy backfiring on men"

The Duluth Model of Domestic Violence is another example of Systemic Misandry as the model assumes that in all cases of Heterosexual DV the man is always the aggressor and the woman is always the victim..
This has led to the near complete erasure of male victims of DV from the statistics.. This model was created by feminists who had an agenda and their model was based upon assumptions and 'feelings' rather than facts and evidence.

However, when you bring this up with Feminists, often you get radio silence or lazy responses like "Yes, the Duluth model is problematic and I don't agree with it" but that's it.. there's no effort on their end to try and fix the systemic misandry introduced by feminists, no effort to repeal the Duluth Model and have it replaced with a model based on facts, evidence and reality..

There are other such examples but I think i've made my point.

I would also state here that Misogyny absolutely DOES exist and there even is some Systemic Misogyny.. however,

I would also point out that we do need to be careful on what we label as "Misandry" otherwise we risk devaluing the term in much the same way women / feminists have done so with Misogyny Because as it currently stands anything which a woman does not agree with / is upset by is being labeled as "Misogyny" which is wrong..

If a man disagrees with something a woman says, that is not "Misogyny"
If a man happens to be looking in the direction a woman is sitting, that is not "Misogyny"
If a man is upset and yelling at a women that COULD be misogyny but should NOT be assumed to be due to "Misogyny"

Misandry is real.

Misandry denialism is based on re-definition of the word "misandry". Misandry denialists in the academic environment like David Gilmore, Alice E. Marwick or Robyn Caplan don't like Merriam-Webster definition of this word (hatred of men). They narrow this definition as much as possible, and from this they conclude that there is no misandry.

The use of toxic masculinity by feminists is an indirect way of saying misandry doesn't exist. Male suicide? Men need to talk more, father's unlikely to receive custody? Raising kids is seen as a woman's job, etc.

They want society to see men's issues as misogyny and believe that tackling misogyny will solve them. Since it's all misogyny, women's issues will receive all the attention and funding goes to feminist organisations. That is why they do nothing but provide lip service in order to make it seem as though they care. In reality, they see it as a zero sum game and are reluctant to share resources even though they will happily ask men to be their 'allies'. If a government were to allocate funds towards building men's shelters, they see that as money that could have gone to them.

I wonder if androphobia is the better term. Apparently it is an actual phobia-phobia, but I'm thinking of it by analogy to transphobia: there's a demonization aspect, a "fear of [group's] power" that isn't present in misogyny, at least as that term is commonly understood and applied in a "patriarchal" context.

As bad and harmful? I have yet to see men march down the street, in same made up walk, with signs saying "All women must die" or "Kill all women".. So yeah, even though the concept, in itself, is equally as bad the outcome is not even close, in reality. On one side everything is considered misogyny, if it's uttered by a man, and on the other side all misandry is just passed as justified, kind of like women hit men and the witnesses to the assault think to themselves "I wonder what he did to deserve that"..

Misandry is an explicit feature of the tradition of marxism as applied chiefly by women projecting onto men that is post-second wave feminism.

This along with "intersectionality" to combine the practices of many varieties of cultural marxism, combined with the practices espoused by Herbert Marcuse's essay, Oppressive Tolerance, facilitate this behavior by the leftists.

It also acts as a further administrative power-grab.

Unless the majority of the left abandons cultural marxism, institutionalized and encouraged personal misandry will continue.
