The highly-upvoted post in question:

My wife and I are married. When I make references to my partner, I will say "my wife". I love saying "my wife", it protects her identity, while I can still talk about her.

I've noticed that when I don't mention that my wife and I are gay, I'm more likely to get downvoted, I'm assuming because posters think I am a man.

We've only had gay marriage in my country for four years. My wife and I got married quickly as we didn't know if the law was going to be overturned. Getting marriage for us wasn't about commitment or love, we had already been together for six years obviously we were committed and in love, it was about having our relationship legally recognised, and getting the legal protections not afforded to defacto couples. It means that I'm her legal next of kin for financial and medical decisions, not her homophobic family.

Participating in a sub for women is great, but I wish I could do it without needing to out myself all the time.

The amount of misandry in feminist communities never really ceases to amaze me, but watching them get shown their manhating in a mirror, only to respond with "oh we have to be better for lesbians" really makes you think.
