Two major possibilities from brainstorming:

Rp thoughts are not popular. I'm not getting into whether they are "right" or "wrong".
Rpers in general don't care whether they are perceived well by the larger community. Many of the core tenets/ideas support that attitude. "I don't need public approval!" It's similar to those feminists that loudly proclaim how they are "strong, independent, and don't need no man." That's fine and all but if we "don't need something" and make that obvious to everyone... then we shouldn't be surprised when it turns out we end up not getting that something.

Yes, you are. Stop belly-aching. Petty downvotes happen to both sides, engaged in by both sides. There are posts of mine which only have factual links, and are downvoted. Long effort posts that have minimal attitude get downvoted. Make an alt for this sub if karma is that important to you. You've already mentioned that you've adopt an SJW attitude to get along with people, so it's not like you don't know how to dissemble. Take a side, and be prepared to be disliked for your opinions, this is how the world works, aren't you TRP guys all about the honest truth? If you can't stand some anon idiot clicking an arrow that takes away an imaginary point, what are you doing here anyway? How will you ever function in the rest of Reddit, or in the real world, where TRP gets bitch-slapped on mere suspicion of sympathy?

I think it's the same reason prochoice people would probably be ruthlessly down-voted on a prolife thread. They don't just disagree with you, they think your position is immoral and perhaps even evil.

I'd like to discuss why this might be.

As of today, TRP has 4.15x the users of TBP. Despite that, as per June survey, 54% of users here identify as blue pill, 38% as red pill (and the rest neutral or purple pill). That means the average redpill is only 17% as likely to engage here as the avg blue piller.

And the reason for that is simple. TRP is initially self-improvement. Perhaps it's not your fault you are where you are, but it's your responsibility to get to a better place because no one else will do it. Social Justicing doesn't matter, results do. (I know some TRPers argue a lot, but imo arguing online is a waste of precious time, restrict it.)

TBP as a sub is purely an anti-TRP movement. They tend to be social justice types that like being outraged. They care more about engaging the enemy in argument.

Even my interest in this sub comes and goes in spurts, and I rarely engage in drawn arguments. I know what I know, and I see it work first hand or not. And if it doesn't, I do something else. An approach to everything in my life.

This doesn't answer the question, but thought I would add that it also seems completely arbitrary. Comments that couldn't be remotely construed as offensive or unreasonable will be downvoted, for no apparent reason whatsoever.
