From a cerebral aspect, seduction appears "rapey" because it can be seen as manipulating women into sleeping with you.

If you look at other things cerebrally, everything seems weird/stupid. You have a camera pointing at two guys fighting and yelling at each other. Soon, someone in the back shouts, "CUT!" and the two people who were just trying to kill each other start laughing and shaking each other's hands.

You then give these people money.

To an inexperienced person, seduction seems immoral, wrong and thus rapey, but when you've tried your best to attract a girl and failed because you tried too hard to win her affection, you'll understand why they call it "the game". A lot of girls want to get lost into believing the mysteriousness of a man, the way he's able to control her emotions, and make her win his affection because it gives her an insane rush of pleasure. That's the idea behind push/pull, to keep her interested and entertained.

That's why 90% of all "nice guys" out there complain about being in the friendzone and never being able to get a girl, because he still thinks in his head that love is created through tremendous kindness and compassion. By reliably and predictably giving her these things and not challenging her, you're boring to her.

When I was a teenage white knight I used to hate seduction, but as I got into my 30's I understand now that it leads to more good in the end. Much like how you must keep dating your SO even after marriage, you have to keep seducing her too. It's why often girls end up cheating in their marriages because their husbands become too comfortable, too predictable, their guard is down and they're no longer fun. The relationship becomes dreadfully boring.

Women shows typically depict the love interest as a handsome, high value man who is also unattainable and thus leads the girl into pursuing him. If she does attain him, then they stress his mysteriousness to keep her entertained.

If he loses both, well, you end up with a Rom-Com where another mysterious high value man snags her away and the fun begins again.

Women don't want to here TRP truths in the media. It goes against everything modern society says: women are right, feminism is empowering, men are evil creatures only after sex.

These seduction books take away control and power from women. They tell in detail what exactly a woman responds to, which strips women of their power. Women don't want men to know how they function, because when men figure that out, they can use that knowledge to their advantage. This is the underlying reason why game and PUA techniques work, and also why nice guy behavior fails to attract women.

The second part of it, is that feminists are hamstering so much that they really think seduction like this is rape. They think that leading them on, emotionally manipulating them based on what you know works/doesn't work is equiavalent to raping her. Simply put, this is another instance of the definition of rape changing from the dictionary definition of rape to the feminist definition of rape.

The reason why women love these BDSM "romance" novels as you put is because it is a method for them to explore their sexual fantasy. As feminists put it, its "empowering." But, since feminism is full of double standards, these seduction guides--which are actually empowering for men--threaten women's power and hence are decried as evil, heinous, and promoting rape.

TL;DR It hurts there feels, causes them to cry rape, and makes their hamsters spin at 4000 rev/min because it causes a shift in the power dymanic from the woman to the man.

Women want to believe sex, when it happens, happens because two people found eachother in a world, which doesn't understand them. A world, where chances are, most people won't.

And that my children, is why there are betas and whiteknights. Because men fall for bullshit like that. And when men themselves, believe that shit, you can see why women are even more annoyed with those men.

Its because deep down, every woman knows that her rationalization of "love" is bullshit. And a man who believes is, allows that woman to pull that veil of "love" over her eyes. That man is comfortable living a lie.

And thus, women want to believe in love. And when they find out it doesn't "just happen" they're appalled. And do shit like this. Its perfectly fine.

For me it's less interesting why women hate seduction guides (ultimately the ones that work lowere the value of the commodity women are offering) and it's more interesting why society behaves to their crappy demands like they do.

Feminists hate that they love masculine men, we argue sexual relationships are voluntary, they argue some mystical blob (the patriarchy) is forcing them to be attracted to redpill men, so while they admit they choose, they rationalize, they don't choose.

Reality: They think that there is some magical innate charismatic quality that separates desirable men from undesirable men. By talking about what women actually find attractive, you become in their minds some loser who is trying to deceive them (unlike "truly charismatic" men). They associate anyone with RP-like thoughts with rookie PUAs that are pathetically transparent. Since, in their mind, they would never be with someone who is not authentically charismatic, you are just another creep who is trying to sleep with them. Add to that some victimhood mentality and low/absent sexual interest from men, and certain women will want to equate men with rapists to boost their self-esteem (You want me but you can't have it).

Remember one of the key concepts of attraction / seduction / PU. Popularized by good ol' David D.

"Attraction is not a choice."

Now consider what that means. If she cannot choose who she is attracted to - ie anyone who knows to do X -> Y -> Z is going to fuck her, then in a way, seduction IS rape. It feels deeply unsettling to women because it reminds her that she is not really in control of her choices. Advertising "rapes" her mind every day making her buy dumb shit. Many things in society take a way a woman's ability to fully give a logical, informed consent. This is not because those things are necessarily bad (ie seduction), but because women lose their ability to choose based upon their own thoughts the way that BP society thinks of humans "choosing".

Of course, to suggest seduction or PUA equates rape is ludicrous. But if what we say is true - aka women don't really have a choice who they want to fuck, and they barely have a choice if they will or will not fuck a guy - then yeah, I can see how society is very, very uncomfortable with that fact. If women can choose whether or not they will be seduced, then they would have no problem with seduction.

Let's flip it around a little...

Pretend there is a man who is ONLY interested in women with large breasts. If a woman is not at least a DD this man is not interested. In fact, the idea of having sex with a woman with anything under a D cup disgusts him.

Now, pretend a bra company has invented the perfect padded bra. Any woman can look like a D cup and it's undetectable under clothing. This guy mistakenly dates a number of small breasted woman, only to be disappointed when the clothes come off and he finds he's been mislead.

What I'm getting at, is the female quest is for the NATURAL alpha. Alpha traits are a genetic display of fitness. Being taught alpha traits is "cheating". If men can be taught to behave in an alpha way, women have a much more difficult time discerning the "good genes". I don't think they actually think this through in this way. It's the hamster, making excuses for instinctive behavior.

It's not just women. People hate being thought of in a way that implies lack of choice. That's the key to all the backlash. Imply to someone that they are predetermined and merely a product of chemistry and biology without any real ability to make choices and change their destiny. People hate that shit. I think there's a different motivation for each one of these.

The first one is because they think the book is condoning rape. Rape is a very touchy subject, and for good reason. Rape is a horrible crime, as everybody will agree despite what people want to believe about this sub. The problem is that rape is not a clear cut crime. Sure, if a guy breaks into a woman's house, ties her down, and has sex with her, that's obvious. Most people would also agree that having sex with a woman who's unconscious is also rape. But what if she's not in her right mind because of drugs but consents? What if she had sex with a guy she otherwise would not have while drunk?

Naturally, there are many people who tend to error on the side of caution, So when they see stuff on LMR, they interpret it as a guy forcing himself on a girl who doesn't want to have sex with him, instead of a girl who wants to have sex but wants to deflect responsibility. It's at least understandable why they would be opposed to that book.

I don't know about kickstarter banning all seduction guides, remember that there's a strong evolutionary pressure on women to have a choice in who they have sex with. They can only have about 1 child per year, and there's a significant chance that she may be forced to raise it on her own. So when they see seduction guides, they see it as a way for low quality men to trick them into having sex with them (at least subconsciously).

I can't think of any other reason why they'd want to ban seduction guides. If they don't think they work, then why bother banning them? If they do think they work, why stop men from having a way to improve their attractiveness?

Take a look at movie themes.

In 70's horror movies, when sex was depicted, how was it depicted? - as something that happened right before the shark ate them / serial killer them / etc. It became extremely cliche - oh, they're having sex? You know they're about to die!

The goal on a higher societal level is to convey the idea that sex == dangerous.

In the 90's and 2000's, take a lot at what sex on tv was always, always associated with - it was rape. Rape was the new boogeyman that communicated "sex is bad". Just look at how many Law And Order: SVU shows there are.

There was (with very very rare exceptions) only 2 ways that sex was depicted on tv and movies: 1. There was a long buildup, and - at the last moment they were interupted somehow, and didn't have sex. 2. The sex was rape, or involved rape somehow.

Seriously, it's super creepy, but between about 1995 and 2005 is was almost impossible to find people having sex where it wasn't rape. There's a small number of exceptions, but that's how sex was portrayed.
