It's funny because, thinking about it... I don't think I have a "toughest rejection". I don't have a single rejection that really affected me or generated any long-lasting emotion afterward. Many people expressed they were not interested in interacting with me, and I was fine with it. Which is crazy when you think about it, how we are so scared of something that we will not even remember, or only in a positive way. I think I always felt more proud after an approach, or more generally after doing anything that scared me.

Rejection is entirely an illusion. You can't be rejected, because a person cannot be rejected. Your proposition can be declined, that's consent. You're proposing an experience to someone (talking with you, or whatever excuses you found to approach that person) and that person is not interested. Great ! It's like proposing someone chocolate and then feeling rejected because that person is not hungry.

You just learn to make the best fucking chocolate in the country and see people lining at the door.

I got a good one for you. Toughest rejection: So I just stopped in at a Shoppers Drug Mart after hitting the gym. I always buy a litre of chocolate milk after a workout. While walking in the store, I catch a glimpse of this skinny blonde girl sauntering through the store. She was with her friend. Initially I didn’t approach in the store and I just thought to myself; forget it.

Fast forward to after I pay and leave. Walking to my car I see the two girls and I think to myself: Fuck it. I ran up on these two and started chatting up the blonde girl.

My reception by her was unexpected. I told her I thought she was attractive and continued talking when she looked at me awkwardly and said...”That is my girlfriend”. Her “friend” who she was with in the store.

Suddenly her girlfriend starts telling me off. Saying that what I am doing is wrong. I’m creeping girls out, blah blah blah. I apologized for hitting on her girlfriend and that I didn’t mean to disrespect her but she just kept on yapping.

Eventually I lost my patience but I still stood my ground and maintained a calm, respectable demeanour. I have done this long enough to know now that her anti-pickup rant against me must have been fuelled by previous transgressions they have faced by other men.

Afterwards she eventually just walked off with her lady. I thought about it after and figured that it was good that it happened to me. God forbid some poor dude who never did a cold approach before ran into these two and went for it. The end

Group I tried direct on literally just laughed as she walked away. I was like

damn, that stung more than it should.

Beyond that I've never actually had a crazy one.

Toughest rejection was I talked to a girl for a second, offered to get her a drink, then once I handed it to her she walked away. Definitely changed up my strategy and damn sure it hasn't happened since haha

Okay here is mine -

There was this SMOKING HOT girl, definitely a 10, with whom I went to high school with for two years. We ended up becoming pretty good friends and always hung out together in our larger friend group.

Here’s the real kicker, we lived close to each other so whenever we came back from hanging out with friends, we would carpool occasionally. After parting ways after Junior year of high school (I went to a different school), we finally had an evening where 4 of us: her, me, my other guy friend and another girl who was in our class, caught up at a McDonald’s. We had the best of times and I’m pretty sure we drove everyone out of the place because we were laughing so hard and having a good time.

When it came time to leave, we came out into the parking lot and she and I went to her car (bc we carpool). Well apparently someone had thrown a chunky rock into her side car window and stole her school backpack. Long story short I produced tape and plastic bags to cover it up. Throughout this whole ordeal it was surprising how not upset she was, we were actually hitting it off pretty well and getting into some deep conversations. It was at this point I realized really how much I liked her and cared for her. Our personalities just clicked and I felt like we could talk for hours.

When we arrived back at my house and she dropped me off, I turned back and motioned her to unlock the car. I got back in and told her how I felt. All things considered she was pretty nice about it and later I found out she totally new I liked her (even though I didn’t tell anyone). She was super nice and told me she wasn’t really interested in a relationship like that with me and she wasn’t ready to start dating again yet. Of course I was devastated but I don’t regret trying at all. This was the last month before she went off to college and I knew I wasn’t going to get a better opportunity. What really was hard was when she started dating one of my other friends 2 weeks later.

My toughest rejection? I approached a girl and opened her. She told me” thank you but I’m good” and walked away. Reminded me of the times I used to sell vacation packages in the phone. 😂

Toughest rejection was back in college: There was this blonde bombshell of a bartender that I was enamored with. I sat at her bar at the club and we talked, got to know each other and all of that.

One time I saw her at another bar out with her friends at the end of the night. Everyone was standing outside wondering where the after hours would be and it was chilly... she was dressed for show not cold. I took off my jacket and gave it to her, and stood there with her until her friends figured out what they were doing. She gave me back my jacket and thanked me and went on her way.

A week later it snowed... I spotted some black leather boots (Doc Martins like) and we went to the club she worked. That was the night I would ask her out. My friends psyched me up and left me to it. I had a couple of drinks... we made small talk and then I asked her out. She said she had a boyfriend (this was new, from previous convos she was single.). I was like damn... that sucks. We could still hit up Denny’s after the bar... (only place open that late) and she said she didn’t think so. I was like ok then.

I went to get up... but my fucking boot was caught in the stool I was sitting on and I couldn’t maneuver my feet to even stand up. So I sat there... awkwardly sipping my drink... awkward silence between me and my crush... and my friend comes over after a couple of drinks and asks me how things are going. I said she said no and I’m fucking stuck here... we started laughing and he grabs the rest of my friends and they laugh.

Eventually one of them took my boot off so I could stand. That loss was crushing.. but at least there was a funny story that came out of it.

I feel you brodie, met this cutie the other day, went really well I asked her for her contact info because we might end up going to the same event over the info! She gave me her Facebook and she said she wasn't going because she had exams (true it's that time for my school) and she's a super super cool sporty girl so I asked if she wanted to go rock climbing or something in the week; she ended up saying she still has 3 exams this week so she would be too busy but offered no alternative. To me that's a curb, but in any case glad to have met her she seems super fun who knows maybe we'll be good friends in the future
