I'm sick of this shit, and it doesn't even have anything to do with feminists really. Of course this is obviously stupid, and ridiculous, but I'm so sick of modern society where everyone's opinion is suddenly valid, because they have a twitter account. Where everyone is a 'journalist' because they have a blog. Where a handful of people or a trending twitter topic represents a movement. Where personal, anecdotal evidence and opinion is supposed to mean something, and everyone's past and off hand remarks are dragged up time and time again by people with agendas. You can't say anything these days without someone somewhere with some agenda picking it out and putting it on display for the world to see. Ross shouldn't have stepped down. What an absolute sham. Feminists should be ashamed, but won't of course.

I don't like Ross either, but an audience is more than its most obnoxious noisy members. If the Hugos pander to this they're going to have an evening of hell with an audience actively looking to slander, trip up, misrepresent and abuse anyone brave enough to take the stage.

If I was Jonathan Ross I'd host the event and then ask all the feminists to stand up, I would then host an informative video highlighting what feminism has actually been doing for the last decade and more. Very patronizing I would then inform these so called feminists that they support this kind of hatred by calling themselves feminists and from their actions they them selves are this kind of feminist.

I think the videos of the Toronto incident alone would hurt the artificial perception of feminism more than anything else. Then I would specifically highlight how feminists treat science and scientists who publish scientific fact that doesn't suit the feminist narrative so the world could see just how poisonous these scumbags can be. Feminists influencing a sci-fi event? Quite frankly I'm disgusted by the idea.

It is obvious to fucking anyone that he is not attacking her missing leg, but her lying behavior - or what he perceives as lying, anyway. I have no idea how much of liar she may or may not be because I don't keep up with such nonsense celeb gossip, but it's fucking clear that his comment is an attack on her behavior, not her disability.

...And? He pointed out that his employer rarely puts minorities in prominent roles. Shouldn't people be congratulating him for outing them?

This is the problem with feminists and the ideology behind them. Most groups choose to support businesses, people, etc. that they agree with while the feminists, etc. method of action is to boycott, destroy those they disagree with. One is a healthy, positive force while the other is childish and destructive.

I'm sorry, but it looks like lots of different people have complained, mainly for the reason that Jonathan Ross has nothing to do with sci-fi, not because he makes jokes people don't like. 'Feminist' appears in only once on the entire page, and in a very insignificant tweet.
