I really like this. While the series of "Just because he ___ doesn't mean he wants to F**k" that came up on your other thread was great, I think this calls attention to (or would, if it were ever publicized) one of the issues most non-MRA's probably don't even think about. So many people think that the parenthood discussion ends with "My body my choice," and take the biased legal bullshit that follows for granted.

Heterosexual sex between two fertile persons can always lead to pregnancy. Hence, if guys have a right not to be a father if the sex leads to a pregnancy, the girl must have an obligation to make an abortion. Not sure if the point was that men should have that right, I think this is a gray area and that both parts have responsibilities whenever they have sex. You can't assume sex is just sex.

I wholeheartedly support this notion. I have found in most cases (that I know of, anyway) that the woman will say "I am going to have this child, but it is entirely up to you whether you want to be a part of its life." I feel this is how it should be. A guy should not be penalized if he doesn't want to have a kid, and this societal construct of 'manning up' should be killed with fire. I will state however that if a guy does opt out of parenthood, that's it. No changing your mind in a year, or fucking around. I know a girl who carried the baby to term alone, gave birth alone, began raising the kid alone and then suddenly, two years later, the father decides he wants in, starts berating her, abusing her and doing everything he can to discredit her. You made the call- move on.

I'm going to be honest and suffer the consequences...but I think this one of the definitions of douchebag. If you want to have sex with someone, then abandon them after finding out that they are pregnant, that is some serious disrespect. Aren't we supposed to be supporting everyone's right to be respected and such? Disrespecting a woman and using her like such a tool is kind of more wrong. I see so many posts on here about Men's rights and women's rights and how they works together. This just doesn't make sense to me.
