The newscast is such shit. "What we don't know is what would have happened to him if he hadn't made the recording." Bullshit we don't know. He'd lose his home, his law license and by that his career.

He would more than likely do jail time and never be employable since the past accusations are easily available in the court of Google.

Was it in a trial stage or had he just been arrested?

My optimistic side: He is innocent until he is proven guilty in a court of law, by a jury of his peers. She would need evidence of her wounds. He could not be convicted solely on her word.

My pessimistic side: It had gone to trial, he was going to be convicted solely on her word, making it that he had to prove his innocence, or rather he was guilty and had to prove his innocence.

Nevertheless, both are ridiculously frightening. Good for him.

I hope she did time. A lesson needs to be taught to these psychotic nut jobs that this isn't okay. Same thing happened to a friend of mine last year and he also got her recorded on his phone making the same claims. Cops pulled him into the station after she made the false accusation, he showed them the recording and they just dropped it without pursuing it any further. Basically told him that women will be women bullshit.

I like how they pointed out he was in the difficult situation of proving a negative, though it would have been nice for them to expand upon the lack of being considered innocent until proven guilty.

FYI, there is a great app for IOS called Dropvox that automatically sends any recordings to your dropbox account and most importantly, can be configured to begin recording immediately when you launch the app. It also allows for background recording when the phone is locked. Not sure about an android equivalent. Protect yourself.

Aww wtf! He doesn't want to press charges?! C'mon, you've got the perfect proof in your hand to win everything you could possibly want in the divorce proceedings. You could have (logically, without family court misconduct) full custody of the daughter, no alimony, most of the assets, and she could be in jail or on probation with a criminal record. Hopefully the DA went forward with it, couldn't find any sources.
