Is humanity really this simple? Do we really just invert prejudice and call it justice?

I could write a report saying "Jews, Whites, and Asians have consistently scored higher on IQ tests than Hispanics, Arabs, and Blacks, QED, higher more of them to increase the capacity for flexible/novel thinking." This would be unacceptable culturally but just as argumentatively valid as the dribble I just read in that sociology textbook.

From what I have heard of my friends who have taken sociology it is more or less a way to demonize white men. Literal quote from a woman I know:

"So far in sociology 101 I have learned that white males are the devil."

Literal quote. I responded with jocular humour. She goes to UBC, one of the best universities in Canada, and indeed, the world.

I sincerely hope that I live to see the day when textbooks such as these are viewed as archaic curiosities of an era when we 'got it all wrong'.

Much the same way we now view the old-time circus sideshows as 'freak shows'. They were entertaining and accepted in their day; but are now antiquated and frowned upon.

I don't know why women et al. can't be happy with just not being discriminated against and they always have to makes this case for why and how they offer something others don't.

You don't have special qualities just because you were born not-white or not-male, you need to have merits that you've cultivated and worked towards.

"We've learned that women tend to have a higher tolerance for ambiguity. We've learned how that trait is a good thing and beneficial to a business. I'm curious, is there anything good about men?"

Prediction: you get a flippant answer, perhaps "men are great when you need to lift something heavy." The class laughs. The instructor moves on.

I learned early on in my college career, always ask the instructor to quote source and defend the text they are teaching. If I got kicked out of class, and new I wasn't doing anything but trying to learn, I went right to administration. This isn't education, it is indoctrination. I have been a Director at GE, ING, Chase and a couple of other fortune 50's, and this is pure bullshit.

That seems almost like a hidden insult to women. "women tend to have a higher tolerance for ambiguity" is the same as saying "men are more likely to perfect something" or "women are more likely to accept errors".

This is what tends to happen when you either bring your political values to your research or to your reading of primary research when writing your course materials. I also wonder what particular views the author of the course booklet has regarding gender norms. A typical - although not universal - claim by some liberal feminists is that gender differences are arbitrary; there is nothing inherently unique about either gender if one is dispossessed of socially constructed gender norms. And yet, I often see claims and politically-driven research arguing for inherent benefits from certain behaviors or cognitive faculties found exclusively, or to a greater degree, in one sex. I often wonder if these are cases of cognitive dissonance.

I'm willing to bet those women aren't interpreting those things as ambiguous then being successful and it just seems ambiguous to another party. That wouldn't be the same thing as being "more tolerant to ambiguity", and it certainly doesn't imply greater cognitive complexity.

I'd love to see a source for these studies.

The cancer of political correctness is astounding. I am amazed it is still a powerful and relevant force in so many aspects of our lives. It is also crazy that it infects the liberal elites the most, in fact they develop and implement each new wave of political correctness. To think higher learning institutions can be so intellectually dishonest.

Long ago I couldn't handle the subjective bullshit spewed from college. I specifically majored in biology not because I liked it, but because my head didnt hurt when learning about facts.
