There are benefits that go along with many states of being (male, female, white, hispanic, chinese, whatever), and these vary depending on the society. More universally, however, is money - which overcomes all things.

I am tired of people whining about "privilege". Men are said to have privilege under patriarchy theory, and "white men" are said to have privilege under kyriarchy theory. In Men's Rights circles, women are said to have privilege, too, based on how others treat (pedestalize) them.

But I (giving my own personal opinion here) get tired of this talk of privilege, because - as far as I can see - it isn't something someone can choose to have or something they can necessarily choose to give up. The whole concept is based on how others treat you based on qualities you can't change (gender, skin colour, etc).

All that should matter is how each of us treat each other, not how others treat us. Am I racist or sexist? No. Done. Are other people racist or sexist? Some no, some yes - and they should be publicly admonished.

This whole patriarchy/kyriarchy theory is just horseshit to make people feel guilty about things that are mostly outside of their control. Be a good (moral) person, treat others with respect regardless of their gender/race/sexual orientation, and be an upstanding citizen - that is my creed.

And I will not be made to feel guilty for the actions of others.
