Not only are the figures ludicrous on the face of it, but the authors didn't even have enough brains to come up with the sort of un-rounded numbers you get in these things, numbers like 97%, 56% etc. On that alone i would expect the whole thing to have been not so much a result of selective sampling as a straight out fabrication.

My psych textbook actually supported the claim that video games cause violence, and used a bullshit paper thing that compared it to cigarettes and cancer in how certain the link was (one that's been pretty thoroughly debunked), ignoring all the studies that say the opposite.

I know it's not a gender issue but still

I told my teacher about it and gave him some counter studies and whatnot. He didn't dismiss them or anything but I don't know if anything came of it.

These "facts" are obviously lies! This book needs to be reported and discredited. Your teacher should be supporting you, not insisting you learn lies. This should go to the highest level possible - go to whoever is above her in the instituation, and preferably any male higher-ups, or females that are interested in truth rather than self interest.

This is only to be expected from psychology,a psuedo science used by psuedo people to make themselves feel adequate and to gain power and status.
