Child molestation is both immoral and a crime. She also allowed her daughter to be molested, provided underage drinking, and child endangerment.

Oh, well that's okay. I mean, those guys that went to jail from To Catch A Predator were doing exactly the same thing and didn't even get any action (as in they intended, but ultimately did not commit the crime). Either way, they clearly didn't just like their minds once. Clearly they've been doing this countless times, unlike the woman in this article that had engaged in sexual activity many times with these boys.

At least she has to register as a sex offender. That'll probably be dropped, though.

This outrageous. I know a man who had an affair with a 16-year-old girl, divorced his wife and married the girl... He was sentenced to 8 years in prison.

A man would be far worse off if he did something like this, like we all know (which is fucked up), but imo this is still kinda ridiculous. In Sweden this would be perfectly legal, it should be in the US too. I don't think the boys had any complaints. A victimless crime in other words. Unless they were somehow forced.

I'm curious how women think about this issue. If someone posted it to 2XC with an ambiguous title like, "Child molester abuses seven children, including own daughter, gets off with 1 year in jail", but doesn't offer any commentary (sarcastic or otherwise) that indicate how the readers should feel, I wonder what the post comments would say?

It'd be an interesting experiment, but I'm honestly too afraid to post it over there. I've discovered that 2XC can be a incredibly vicious and cruel place to try and hold a calm discussion in unless you have nothing to say other that toe the party line. Women are very frightening animals.

I acknowledge the disparity between her sentence, and that of a similarly situated man. I deplore the inequity.

That being said, I think a year and a half for the incident is more than enough for ANYBODY who engages in such behavior.

Ergo, I am not outraged.
