This is actually typical female behavior, don't knock it, because it helps us evolve, here's the basic mating strategy:

Step 1: find a safe, secure, provider guy, who has a good amount of resources and is pretty much guaranteed to stick around to help rear children and take care of her (he gives her the diamond earrings in the trailer, so I assume he as a little money)

Step 2: go fuck an exciting rogueish "player" type, so that her offspring will have a better chance of reproducing, but then have the safe, secure guy raise the children.

This is the ultimate female mating strategy, and I'd like to note that most of this is completely unconscious on the woman's part. It's allowed us as humans to evolve into the current breeding/survival machines that we are today. If you want to know more, read the book "Sperm Wars".

She's just trying to live her life and be happy. I'm sure the movie rationalizes her cheating somehow, or if nothing else, it's because she genuinely thinks she's in love with some other guy. It's not as if she's stringing him along for his money and out banging dudes off the craig's list, right?
