I once(2010) raised 6 million pounds to set up a housing association for vunerable people with a focus on men but then austerity(UK) happened & it was refused continued funding & I was in a pretty bad place myself at the time(not much better now if at all). I tried. Im so beat up at this present time though I can barely drag myself out of bed.

Feminists don't allow for male voices or spaces in academic institutions.

It's hard for boys and young men to even get their first words out about their issues, and risk punishment in the form of mob justice if the boys do actually manage to get a message out.

We do try a lot of things. From asking for donations to trying to directly advocate for things.

But we've learned time and time again that our attempts at real world activism are going to be met with both harassment and defamation. So most of us are afraid of attaching our real names and personal details to the movement.

Just look at what happened to cassie jaye. And all she wanted to do was make an unbiased documentary on the MRM.

look at what happened to erin pizzey. The woman behind the first domestic violence shelters.

Look at what happened to warren farrell. Who is one of the kindest most soft spoken men in the MRM.

We can only do so much. But I think that one of the best things we can do is to spread awareness of men's issues. The more people are aware. The less stigma there is. The more real activism we can do.

Went in "hot" or the sub. On the last 30 posts, 5 talk about feminism two of these post talk about how feminism harmed men.

There is often call for donations, sending emails, signing petitions, joining march for men and boys, etc. But people in this sub come from all over the worlds, it is quite difficult to coordinate things. Moreover nobody want to gove too much infos about themselve in this sub. I am pretty sure you understand why. Because of that, there are people talking about what they do without asking help. Or trying to make their online male support groups more visible.

I appreciate the sentiment and sometimes feel that this would be valuable but then I sit back and look again at the reality of the situation. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, cares about men. They may say that they do, they may talk about it, but when push comes to shove nobody acts. Men are not a minority. Men are roughly half the population. Men's history is either seen as heroic when actually tragic or oppressive when remotely successful. The right ignores our problems and shouts down our solutions and the left does too, just for different reasons.

I have goals and plans myself to help the movement. When I am financially and academically able, I am going to try and open a men and boys domestic abuse shelter here in the US but until then I have to just keep my head down and work relatively silently toward that goal. I wish we lived in a society where people were valued for being people but sadly, left or right, we are not. Men are disposable. Men are predators. Men are evil. That is how we are seen and that is just the way it is.

I think that rights have to be won within a larger social context. the best approach is at least two sided :

-constructing democratically run neighborhood and regional groups that aim to meet real daily, community, needs from worker owned firms, to counseling, to fitness to daycare etc

-Organizing large workplaces from Walmart to wells fargo or BP and in agriculture and tech, using iww style approach but federating

In each of these, numbers are important and unity across very different demographics is key to winning battles. This is the place to marginalize feminism and idpol into obsolescence by demonstrating how organizing around egalitarian assumptions win battles, and spur cooperation, while idpol never produces gains.

I understand bourgeois liberal rights for men need to be won by lobbying and electoralism as well but there will be no leverage to get that done without a popular movement to back it up. That movement will stray way off course into scary cult territory , even worse than feminism, if it is just about mens issues rather than issues of the people as a whole framed in an inclusive, neutral, non feminist way.

I try to do as much as I can in my community, but it is hard because "men already rule the world, stop whining".

Funny how no matter how educated and logical you are with your arguments, cancel culture is still seen as a valid argumentation.

No matter how "real" our activism gets, it will always be "just complaining". The world is not mature enough to judge what "real activism" is.

Yes, I volunteer my time & money and write against forced circumcision. But then again, I’m also not motivated by a hatred of feminism & also find that tendency of the sub annoying.

While I'm partially sympathetic to an aspect of your post — I do think there are commenters here who go beyond a (highly justified) critique of aspects of feminism and proceed to outright vilify feminism and feminists as a group — I nevertheless reject the underlying premise of your post that writing, posting, and commenting isn't "actual" activism.

Of course it's actual activism, and in many cases it's likely one of the most effective means of activism available to an average person. Concrete work focusing on specific problems is laudable, but a genuine shift in society's direction will require actual understanding of the nature and importance of men's issues. Persuading people in the 'free market of ideas' is one of the best ways to do this, no?

I wish. Theres really nothing I can do right now with quarantine and stuff, but I have mailed my representatives a few times.

Other than that I'm mostly just posting some stuff from @thetinmen on my ig story to try and get people to realize that this is the direction progressivism is moving in. I lost a few followers for it (most from when I said "unfollow me if u think it's okay to hate men"), but I've still got around 550 followers who see it each time.

A few of them regularly drop a like on the post if I cross post it, all of them women, actually. Some of my male friends have texted me to say they agree with the ideas but dont want to like the post cuz they think ppl will hate them for it, which is fair.

I'd say the most important part of the mrm rn is getting ppl to know that there are issues at all. Mras could try lobbying, getting into politics, and all the other tactics feminists use but it won't matter until people are willing to admit that mens problems exist.

NCFM-Chicago was doing some good activism until NCFM came in and stopped almost all of it.
