I originally posted this on r/TrueOffMyChest, and I thought you all would like to read this so I'm posting it here also. What I found interesting was the reaction and discussion in the comments. Some supportive, others seemingly misinterpreting the post on purpose (imo), and a few being insulting. I must admit though, I mostly lurk on this sub-reddit because I've seen the line on some comments getting very blurry between actually advocating for men's rights and just hating on women, and myself like many people of this sub prefer the former I think. So here's what happened to me:

I was in high school when this happened, so this occurred some years ago.

The girl and I were going to meet up at my house to have fun on a Saturday. She brought 2 bottles of vodka, and one of some lighter stuff to begin the day. We knew coming in that we were gonna get fucked up. Also, a couple of days before, I told her it'd be a good idea to mix our drinks a bit with benzos. She loved the idea, so we did it. I took care on the dosage for her because she didn't have tolerance for it as I had.

All was well for an hour and a half to two hours, then time just flew. I didn't go into it with the intention of anything happening (at all) because I thought I'd have more self-control, but I'm sure she knew what was up as she had a long history with this kinda stuff. She's a party girl, is what I mean. Then I woke up on the kitchen floor, it was night-time and she was out of the house already. She sent me photos of her neck pretty much bruised with hickeys. Told me all that happened was that we made out and stuff. I had very little recollection, but I remembered a few moments. Objectively we didn't have sex because benzodiazepines already makes my dick limp, nevermind the alcohol.

2 days later she gets really afraid of going to school because I was in a relationship with a close friend of hers, she misses classes just to not feel the guilt and embarrassment (she told me this). So then she makes up this whole narrative that I got her drunk, drugged up her drinks without her consent, and raped her. Everybody believed it.I lost all my friends, my reputation around town gets weird, then I had to switch schools, and the rumor continues following me around to this day.

Am I to blame for not seeing this coming? Absolutely. It was a very immature encounter overall. But then again, I was about 16 years old and had very little experience with this kind of stuff. Lesson learned though.

She also said that I did oral sex to her, which is entirely out of character for me, even while drunk it would not cross my mind, because it's just not something I like doing, not even to my partner.

Honestly, it's so bizarre how cases of anything regarding a man assaulting a woman in any way already makes him guilty without any due process. I had the receipts too, messages that I showed to some people to prove that I was innocent. Most agreed, others were on the fence because they were friends with the girl. But at that point, the whole high-school knew about it. It even followed me to another high-school that I migrated to. How much will this still affect my life, with so many people in the know?

You see, these are very dire consequences. It cannot go on like this. I see people getting cancelled left and right, some stories are probably true, others probably false. When you say "believe all women", then all those stories turn true and you can make innocent people's lives hell, just like what happened to me.

I don't wish her any ill will, but I'd really like that women that do false allegations like this get the justice they deserve and that it's more recognized by society, not pushed under the rug as exceptions to the apparent rule that women are always right in these cases.

To clarify, I'm not saying men don't lie or do vile things. I'm not saying all women are evil. That's not it at all. All I'm trying to do is offer a different (male) perspective on these kinds of situations, as it is not often heard of, and advocate for due process on similar cases of sexual assault allegations. Also, yes I ended up cheating while on the effects of alcohol+benzos, it doesn't justify it at all and I lost someone very precious to me. In retrospective, sometimes I think that the girl was taking advantage of me, but overall the situation was very immature so I try not to ponder over it.

TL;DR - Me and a girl get wasted on alcohol and benzos, as was planned already days before. 2 days later, ashamed that she made out and got wasted with her close friend's boyfriend, she makes up a narrative that I drugged her without consent and raped her. Everybody believes her and my life turns to hell.
