Of course objectification is necessary. But it is also very dangerous, which is why healthy cultures do their best to constrain and channel it.

It was wrong for men to increasingly overtly objectify women in shared speech with other men. Not because such thoughts are unnatural, but because they were natural. Suppressing the speech helps suppress and constrain the thoughts. Keeps it more manageable.

Sadly, as we society evolved over the last while, instead of men showing more restraint, we equalized things by having women start to match men with their open objectification. This was not the right path.

I like being sexually objectified. Men don't sexually objectify women they don't find attractive so when I get compliments in real life or on a picture I post on social media, it's gratifying to me.

I'd rather be objectified for being attractive than ignored.

There is no biological advantage to psychologically seperating oneself from the their own kind that they require coperation from to survive. It doesn't make sense for a social species to view their females as "othered" or an object of no significance.

Failing to treat someone humanely without regard to their person or dignity is a problem for general society.

This type of behavior is rightly scrutinized, whether it's racisim, classism, ableism, etc. Because of the damage and complications that it causes.

People are humans. It's a problem if you aren't able to see half of the human race as other humans. Inability to perceive other humans as human beings means an inability to constructively socialize or be humane towards that person.

Sexual attraction doesn't have to involve objectification. Objectification happens when someone doesn't see the humanity in someone else.

Your sexual attraction shouldn't make other humans seem non-human. There is no biological reason for it.

Humans largely or completely ignore social and cultural influences on how they behave and what they believe. Sexual objectification of women is largely cultural. If it wasn't, every man all over the world would have the exact same beliefs and triggers regarding women and they do not.

Women are a series of body parts with the personality of some kind of cow/donkey hybrid according to PPD. I am not even sure the men here who have partners like them that much. You see on this thread alone women trying to talk in circles about how when it is / isn’t okay and what does / doesn’t constitute objectification.

The point is, as always, they can play the card when it’s convenient.

If you admire a woman and her accomplishments, but then say she has a nice ass you will be accused of “objectification” if it serves their purpose.

"Just treat women as human beings" poses two issues:

Women objectify men even more than men objectify women
Women put their sexual desirability at the forefront and expect men to care about everything but that

To add to the 2nd issue, most women don't offer anything else of substance in a relationship context.

The amount of dissembling in this thread is too damn high.

Objectification is perfectly right and natural in the context of heightened sexuality. Not in the everyday parlance. Understanding and recognizing when the context changes to one of heightened sexuality is the big problem here. The circuitry that recognizes the shift to sex is purely right-brain. Given that most redditoid spergs are left-brained to the point of non-functionality, it makes sense that people don't pick up on this.
