The fact that somebody can be guilty of rape "beyond a reasonable doubt" when the person wasn't even able to properly identify them consistently, and there was no good direct evidence linking them to the crime - baffles me.

These kinds of miscarriages of justice are totally unacceptable, but sadly they will continue for as long as the justice system is not held accountable to standards of evidence.

They pick him up because months after the event, she’s sure she sees her attacker and the attacker is back and he’s the only black man they find in the area. She couldn’t pick him out of a lineup, she was sure that the one she did pick out line up has done it based on “the Expression in his eyes” and obviously he wasn’t because there is only one suspect in a lineup, the rest are hired actors. But they charge him anyway and she identifies him in court (because no shit, he’s the black man sitting in the defendant chair) and they accept that as a positive ID? What an absolutely absurd kangaroo trial. A crying white women is the most dangerous thing in the world for black men

I just don't get how so many men are oblivious to this stuff. It's clear the news is biased. There's a clear anti-male agenda in the press yet so many men don't realize it.

There's so much talking about being an ally and helping others. It's insanity. Wake up. Look at the truth of what's happening around you.

I understand that it's hard to recognize the truth when there is so much propaganda around but for your own safety and the safety of your sons, you have to wake up to the discrimination that is happening here.

It makes me sick and miserable. Men are treated like garbage and the ones who do speak about it are ostracized and vilified.

Men'll get outraged about Brock Turner but they won't get mad about this. This is what men should be mad about. Forget all the other stuff. Think about the stuff that actually affects you and people like you.

This woman honestly is a lunatic. This shit scares me shitless. And while I know it likely won’t happen to me since I’m a white man, it’s still scary as hell that it happens at all.

This reminded me of the Brian banks movie and how it completely whitewashed the fact that a single unreliable and confused accusation can destroy man's life. I hate that movie.

I wouldn't say she's getting a pass exactly. Even news outlets you'd expect to make excuses, like CNN or the Graun, aren't doing that- but are just reporting the latest developments in a pretty matter-of-fact way and are more about Broadwater than about Sebold. That's probably the way it should be.

I'm usually fairly forgiving towards people who misidentify their attackers. In most cases it's not malicious, just a tragic mistake. But her cavalier indifference isn't excusable. What kind of sicko deliberately picks the wrong guy out of a police lineup just because she thinks he looks like a baddie?
