Do NOT under any circumstance plead guilty. It will be a permanent part of your record, you can be restricted from getting a job, it will show up in your records, and can be used against you. If you are out on bail, is there any father's rights group or pro bono lawyer that can take your case? I can feel your pain, but do not give up. If at all things go wrong, go for uncontested trial but do NOT plead guilty. Depending on where you live, you can search online for mra's and.see if there are local.resources available to you. If you are a minority, maybe you can use that in your.defence as a legal.basis for.discrimimation. Or maybe you can.say that she initiated the violence because you expressed doubts about your sexuality. The courts are very protective of the rainbow people. Try contacting firms.which work.with male victims of dv. If you are in UK, the mankind initiative can help you get info. Also you can see some videos online by a Diana Davison, a Canadian lawyer who works with falsely accused men. She has pretty good videos. Get a new lawyer. When in front of the judge try to explain the situation why you have no lawyer. Then kick the can down the road by delaying things until you get a lawyer you are happy with.

There is a reason lawyers are stereotyped as parasites. Be glad you didn’t have more money to lose. If you had more, the lawyer would have just extended over and over while billing extra hours and charging you for every interaction. My family is over $60k in on a case and the lawyer wants $12k more to go to court, it’s absolutely brutal.

Don’t get too down about criminal history, just try your best to get as much as you can dismissed/expunged.

Also, and don’t forget this. Never, ever stick your dick in crazy.

You are right, he is most likely very sympathetic to your ex.

Get a new lawyer. Keep in mind these lawyers are generally not on your side, they are on the side of the courts and Women. The more money they squeeze out of you the more the state gets from the Feds. It's like a sick incestuous relationship between the courts, lawyers and judges.

Try to find a lawyer who knows the judges or worked with the judges before.

I’m an English lawyer (not a defence attorney). You can ask your current lawyer for a breakdown of what work he has done vs hours billed. This is an hourly breakdown of his costs. You can then see if he’s ‘put too many hours’ into your case and have a document detailing exactly what he has done and by whom (him or his aid).

If you plead guilty, you will be permanently ineligible for some of the jobs because if your criminal record. Choose a male lawyer, she has in-group bias for women.

#1 In a lot of states when you make a claim to the ethics board of the state bar against your lawyer, if they find it has merit they'll allow for a rescheduling of your trial (if it's still on the docket) - and may even be grounds for a mistrial.

#2 Or you could place an anonymous report to the ethics board where they'll essentially just make a report on the incident that sits in a folder somewhere unless/until you decide to follow through with an actual grievance. So you MAY be able to just tell your lawyer to get his act together or you'll file the grievance where he could lose his license or at least have to pay a hefty fine.

#3 You can also try speaking to the judge about it in chambers, but that would likely mean that your ex's lawyer would be in there as well and they'd most likely object to it so your chances are pretty slim that way.

Gather as much information you can on what he's billed you for on the hours you've already paid. He should be invoicing you for all of that. Also try to put together as accurate of a timeline as you can for all the times you've seen him/his aide: What did you talk about? With which one? From when to when? Be as specific as possible, and gauge that against the paperwork you signed when you hired him.

Try route #1 if you still have time (ethics boards are pretty notorious for how long they take to resolve an issue). If you take route #2 and decide to push the lawyer, do NOT give him the file number. Route #3 is the most uncertain because it depends on how well your lawyer knows the judge, and how much pity the judge takes on you since you're now representing yourself. The ethics board tends to not deal a whole lot with regular lawyers, so you COULD have better luck going that route, and if nothing else they'd likely be able to give you advice specific to your state on what to do about the lawyer if they can't help. The original case that you hired the lawyer FOR? Not so much, but at least it's a shot at getting your money back so you can hire someone competent or get your lawyer off his arse.

There is a video on YouTube a video of a woman claiming her husband abused her. However he had a camera in the which showed that any injuries were caused by her when he wasn't even there.

There is another video of that woman in which she states that her lawyer told her to do that because of the money.

Basically lawyers go where the money is.

You are entitled to a public defender if you can't afford to hire your own lawyer. Some public defenders are a lot better than private lawyers. Worth at least considering before you represent yourself.

Local law schools have free legal clinics that are supervised by local attorneys who lead the clinics. Call the university/college near you to inquire. You can fire your attorney. If the new attorney thinks your past representation was a case of malpractice, then down the road you can file a complaint with your state bar against them.
