Ask her about the many housewives who don’t do anything and just have a hired maid to do the housework.

Ask her if that’s the case... why so many men feel obligated to be a financial object for women’s approval (having to be the breadwinner, working long hours, paying for the dates)

Maybe what she is really complaining about is a lack of men who earn more money than she does? That would be a natural result of universities being mostly female but (almost) all women only considering men that make more than they do to be worth dating.

Some men are not adequately parented with increasing responsibility in taking care of themself and remain adult children in some respects. There is also still substantial societal emphasis on becoming partnered as soon as they leave home instead of taking some time to find themselves. It is not surprising they want a partner when they leave home to continue to act as Mother in taking care of them with no responsibility.

These men aren't losers, they were poorly parented with little development of personal responsibility.

Not all men are like this, but some. The Sister has probably been looking in the wrong areas and personal experience can not be statistically expanded to apply to everyone.

Conversely, there are many women who feel entitled to be kept like a princess by a man who becomes her personal servant and ATM: too entitled to put the toilet seat down by herself and requiring her servant to do it for her else she doesn't feel respected.

Drop the men an women bit and just remember people are different. Your level of effort in life should be equal to your desires and demands. If you give too little of your effort, you're taking advantage of others. While giving too much of yourself is a little more complex. It can be noble. But it can also enable takers.

Ultimately we can't even agree on what equal level of effort means. Especially if you bring in concepts like emotional work. But a least talk it out. And you do not have to accept someone's emotional labor. You can say no thanks. Establishing limits is healthy. Don't date if you can't stand on your own. Examine anyone you're dating that can't stand on thier own and determine exactly why. Some reason can be looked past. Some cannot.

I think she is speaking based on her experience, which is obviously small. In all honesty I am sure either gender wouldn’t mind someone who paid half the bills and did all the cooking and cleaning. I mean lots of people would rather hire help than do all the extras around the house.

Damn, I wish my babies were able to work 70 hours per week to provide for the needs of the family. Though to be fair I think my > 60 hour work weeks, though they number in the hundreds, are all behind me now.

but what's the problem here? you not liking her thoughts, her complaining and you wanting to help, her relationship? maybe just tell her everyone wants to be babied sometimes and a healthy person should also want to provide for their significant other, it should go both ways and that is all, if we choose to carry ourselves with healthy principles, the world around will respond and the right partner will come, that's the only hope we can have, to act like we want everyone else to act and teach people self respect

if she is just saying it for the sake of saying it, then I don't know what the response should be, you can find an article providing evidence for anything
