Men seem to overestimate their ability in damn near everything. I guess that’s just what happens when you’re not taught to be humble.

Is it just me, or will some guys just make some dumb argument and then, when you rebuke it, they will completely ignore your answer, insist you didn't understand them, and say the same dumb argument again, louder? Seems relevant.

This is so sad. Perhaps the most depressing thing was how parents overestimate sons' intelligence and underestimate daughters'. If your own parents underrate you, what chance do you have of gaining good self-esteem?

I knew this long before I could even articulate this concept as a kid. I don’t think anyone is surprised by this. Even men know this on a deep, deep level but they are too stupid and full of audacity to comprehend this.

So I’m a genius, I have an IQ in the 98th percentile and I used to be in Mensa until I realized it was so closely tied to eugenics and yes this article tracks. Oddly enough, other smart people can usually clock how smart I am. People of average intelligence typically don’t realize it; these are usually men who are overestimating their own intelligence. It’s a fun litmus test.

As someone with a very top tier IQ, all this. I have turned being underestimated into a super power.
