Hello!

So, I took interest on the topic of men's issues about one year ago and ever since I have been spending time into educating myself about the discriminations that men face in our current society.

Not long after though, I also started getting interested in the dating scene and I have been using apps to meet new people, and while my experiences have been pleasant overall, sometimes I find some guys that come quite on the defensive. Some of the examples that come from the top off my head are: they immediately question my intentions upon messaging them, treat me like I am a monkey that's willing to entertain them or/and blatantly call out my social awkwardness and suggests that I'd better 'make it up with slutty photos and sexual services since it's all I know what to do'.

These are the most extreme examples that I have encountered, mind you, and to be fair my time here has helped me to discern between normal men and the assholes that have been so butthurt that they have nothing better to do than to spread the venom they have been given all over the Internet. However, at the same time, I am a bit worried that with all the vitriol that is going through between both sides of the spectrum, I may come across as disingenuous and carry myself in ways that may scare other men away.

You guys seem to have received your fair share of experiences and acknowledge the bigotry of feminist discourse when a male ally asks them the same, so now I shoot you the gender-reverse question: how could a young woman approach a young man without triggering any alarms?
