We’re starting to call out pick-mes more than actual scrotes here when I’d bet 90% of us were pick-mes before finding FDS. What happened to this sub being about dating strategies? We have the sub femalelevelupstrategy for a reason. Let’s have some empathy for the women who are just like we were. Most just don’t know any better - I know I didn’t.

Empathy is a HV trait. A lot of these posts sound like the same pickme mentality seeking validation from a new audience. If you find yourself putting down other women to make yourself an more leveled up, you have more leveling up to do.

Thank you for devoting a post to this! I’ve noticed an increase in those kinds of posts too and it’s really icky. While no one is above criticism, basically making fun of women being treated like shit by a scrote is not funny or remotely okay. We should be putting the focus on distancing ourselves from men like this and supporting women

I thought we were supposed to be cracking down on meaningless roasting of LVM/W in this sub? I know it’s a lot of work to do so, but it’s also damaging to a lot of women here to see a nonstop onslaught of shitty, LV behavior that minimizes hope for the future in our dating lives.

Yup. A few days ago, some guy wrote about how he wishes he could meet professional good looking women who have their lives together, but he keeps meeting losers. My response to that was, birds of a feather flock together. We are attract and are attracted to people that we share things in common with. Like minded people find each other. So yeah, him complaining about people he considered losers was really him complaining hes surrounded by people like himself.

So when someone is going on about all their pick me friends, to complain or laugh about them, what they say about the company they keep tells me more about them than they realize, and the complaints and jokes are to deflect from themselves. Sure, we all come across people and may even have friends who are not 100% aligned with our own values, but then, at least for me, they arent part of my inner circle close friendships who Id devote my precious time to thinking about, moreless talking about.

Im on a path here....anyone who is on the same path, we can travel it together. Anyone who is not, isnt on my radar so my focus isnt on them. On that note, its why I dont respond to posts like that. Would love to see some crack down on these types of level down posts.

I get the frustration that creates those posts but I really appreciate you saying this. It makes me feel icky. It's one thing to find someone irritating but I've seen some super vitriolic comments within the lines of "I don't even care what happens to her" in terms of harassment/assault/etc. Borderline if not outright victim blaming women for being in the pickme phase almost all of us were in at one point. Solidarity is Solidarity. IMO you don't have to Like your sisters but you should Love them.

In my opinion PM behaviour is incredibly dangerous politically right now. We are losing our legal rights by the day. We can't afford not to call it out. Levelling up is not about being nice. However, it can be done assertively rather than dragging anyone.

Mixed feelings. I get the frustration towards pickmes of undermining an acceptable societal standard by their behavior. But to me personally it’s important to be gentle towards someone who is just struggling to get by, because our society is hard, and deprogramming is hard, and not everyone has the support/tools/abilities/education to level up. They are just living their lives and trying to get by.

Where I have a problem is, to varying degrees as you move up the chain (pickmeism is a bit like MLM), is 1) ordinary women “recruiting” by insisting that their pickme way is the way to live, even when it involves tolerating abuse, etc., found in forums and IRL and then 2) social media influencers/bloggers who have a wide reach and are invested in and promoting those behaviors and then 3) public figures such as reporters/professors/writers/coaches who have even more reach and are profiting off of these harmful ideologies. So, YMMV but I think at least, category 3- where there is the highest level of responsibility- should not be beyond reproach. And then as far as the first two, to kind of assess meaningful impact on other women before coming at them.
