I have. My ex-wife. She wanted a divorce because she later felt guilty for what she'd done to me. But then she said she thought me like a brother to her and still wanted me to stay with her as a flatmate.

As if my brain wasn't messed up enough already, I agreed to separate for a year if that's what she wanted. I made it very clear to her that divorce meant she would never see me again.

She applied for divorce anyway, I agreed, and then I left to work abroad. Her brother emailed me a week later telling me how she missed me. I did not answer that email and never saw her again.

If you think divorcing is the worst way a woman can mess with a man's brain, I can tell you she can do far worse than that. Divorce is the tip of the iceburg of mind games that a woman can play on a man.

I have known two women who blamed their failed marriages on themselves.

The first is a really lovely woman I know pretty well and speak with regularly. She is really super physically attractive and on the surface is warm, kind, sweet, fun, intelligent, endearing, quick with thoughtful compliments, etc... but once you get beneath the surface she's a pure shitshow of self loathing, doubt, and insecurity.

The second is my wife. She freely admits that the breakup of her first marriage, more than a dozen years before I married her, was all on her.

It should be noted that both of these women are over age 50.

I am an introvert but have a friend, who had a period where she argued with her boyfriend, but she took accountability and said it's because her occasional jokes and behavior were little too slobbery. But she fixed herself.

A happy woman is one with appreciation and good moral compass. Some girls are never happy and no matter what you do, even if you do make her happy, it'll last a very short amount of time and you'll have to keep upping your game, money, and time to achieve the same effect. It's a drug.

"Happy wife, happy life" might be true if the wife has the right principles instilled in her. If not, then you will spend all your time and money trying to "make her happy" but she'll never be happy and you'll end up being miserable and depressed too.

The last relationship I had, I would've done anything for her.

Post break-up, she initially called me a player for....some reason...even though I was so heartbroken by her walking away from me that I shut myself up in my room for days on end.

She was a pretty brunette nurse who claimed I stole her heart...then weeks later pulled the rug out from under me.

I'd like to add that it's never heard when they wholeheartedly mean they are responsible. You can sometimes have them pretending and knowing what to say to sound like they know they were responsible. Another thing entirely is them fixing their issues.
