So I stumbled across this gem on our favourite feminist circlejerk, by a rather respected user of the subreddit, which I feel is rather important to bring to your attention for a few reasons.

The first of which, being that this is a clear example of MensLib losing favour with them and is a sentiment that is echoed by many of the commenters on that post. BurgerKrieg’s video on men’s emotional isolation, which some might have seen on here, has managed to earn such ire that demagogues like OP are stirring shit about them turning into a men’s rights group.

This should be ringing alarm bells for anyone interested in bringing some of MensLib’s users here, because there’s a good chance that the mods will absolutely crack down on such talk far more ferociously to keep their masters pleased. So I implore those keeping an eye out to watch for the diaspora, we can’t afford to lose them to apathy.

However this isn’t the only thing, as much as I do consider that important in its own right. The more pressing point, I feel, is that I want everyone here to look at the commenters’ language carefully. Almost in its entirety it demonstrates PERFECTLY what we in this community have been calling out feminists on for a few years now: the absolutely slimy rhetorical tricks they employ.

You have OP directly minimising and mocking the suggestion of men’s emotional deprivation being in any way important, the abrogation of any responsibility feminism has had on the impact of broader discourse/social perceptions the instant it’s brought into question (with the implication that doing so is in and of itself a malicious attack), fearmongering about any discussion of men’s issues will only enable misogynists, predators, abusers etc. and my personal favourite: that men just need to “do better.” Yeah, hands up anyone who’s heard THAT before.

Now I know that in itself is nothing special but, they’re a lot more mask-off than usual, one even going so far as to say we, as men, have to put OUR NEEDS aside for the sake of women and queer people as part of deprogramming our misogyny. I want you to let that sink in for a minute, because it vindicates a point that some have asserted in the past. And it’s that feminists DO. NOT. CARE. About actually changing things for men, they do not care about dissolving the social and economic expectations that have become so integral to being a man in any way, for as suffocating and downright miserable (which of course we get blamed for exclusively). It’s merely chivalry rebranded, but now with an aggressive push for men to bear a sense of guilt and hyper-vigilance to ensure we don’t step out of line.

They are only concerned with being able to mould it in a way that provides the maximum benefit to women, and their repeated, aggressive, and frankly obnoxious means of suppressing any data or talk of men’s struggles feeds right into it. We are beasts of burden to them at best, and wolves in sheep’s clothing at worst. With the added bonus of OP even outright signalling the danger of men being “fully integrated” into feminism.

So bear this in mind anytime someone says that feminists care about men. Because this epitomises what goes on behind the curtain.
