Humans are serially monogamous. It is the natural state of humans to have sexual relationships that last for a couple years and then end. Lifelong marriage is much less natural and thus it also so unsuccessful.

50% of American marriages end in divorce which mean the other 50% are "successful", however you interpret that.

Kids grow up in a safe nuclear family that provides economic stability and funds college education leading to empowered kids with higher incomes.

Obvious detractors will always cite dead bedrooms and people who should gave divorced but could not afford to. Okay then open up the marriage like Will Smith and get your cake and get to eat it too.

I'm confused. Did someone tell you every woman's goal is a 50 year marriage with kids?

I like to be in LTR's for as long as we are both happy. My current one is 3.5 years and I'm still content. If it ends tomorrow, that's fine too.

I don't want marriage or kids, ever. And I don't even want cohabitation (so my man and I do not live together).

Sure, some women would love marriage and kids and are heartbroken that their LTR's keep ending but there are many of us who just want to be with someone compatible for as long as it lasts.

As for "nothing to show for it," that's an odd phrasing. Why are we obliged to show anyone anything or prove anything?

I'm into fitness and have a very lean physique but I won't have the same physique I do now at 70. Does that mean having a slim, lean, bikini body NOW isn't worth it because it won't last until my death? Absolutely not.

My focus is on being content. I don't have to live my life per someone else's LifeScript of what a woman should want.

Sometimes relationship just fails.Either man wants or leave you.We are not useful like man,we are already biologically built for pump and dump so..we have no choice,just to accept it.It depends on woman how she perceived relationship.

I was in relationship with my ex and it ended b mecause he wanted kids and I couldn't give him.Only satisfaction I have is good times with him.
