I've seen plenty of people say that girls are just more pleasant to look at than guys, both from girls and guys. It reminds me of what my friend told me and I've seen said plenty of times. You always hear "that guy is with a girl who is way above his league," but you never see it the other way around. Even guys I consider hot (I'm not sexually attracted to them, but I just think they're good looking), my friend would say is below the girl next to him who I would say isn't as hot. It's so rare to hear a guy is hot unless he is rocking a six pack or is some really famous person. If a random guy is considered hot, I often see it's when he's wearing a mask. My friend said guys with masks on are always hot. I asked her "isn't that just because you can imagine his face being whatever you want?' and she said "obviously." I thought that was strange because it's on the level of the old cliche of just tossing a brown bag over someone's face to just enjoy their body. And it really is like that, because if that guy takes off his mask and isn't drop dead gorgeous, he will get hate instead. We saw that happen with the Youtuber Dream.

I don't know about "body shaming", but males of vertebrates are almost always objectively more aesthetic than their female counterparts, be it lions, silverback gorillas, reindeer, peacocks, most birds and fish, male gaurs, etc., and this includes humans.

Coming to humans, human males in their natural habitat are on average objectively more aesthetic than their female counterparts by virtue of their size and musculature when it comes to their bodies. Even when it comes to facial features, human males have sharper, more angular features, longer eyelashes and more symmetric faces (tables 1 and 2). Human females might make themselves look more aesthetic by using tools like makeup and photoshop, but this wouldn't hold up on a level playing field. For example, Korean boys use makeup and they look better than their female counterparts and this is reflected in the greater popularity of Korean boy bands compared to girl bands in a country which is extremely lookist.

There's a reason ancient civilizations made nude sculptures of males but not females.

Yeah I'd agree that for a terminally-online woman of course women's bodies look better. I mean, nearly every picture posted on Instagram by a woman is run through seven different filters to erase every blemish, make her nose narrower, make her face smaller, and whiten her teeth. Pictures of their bodies are thrown through Photoshop.

If you want to see the average woman's body, go to a water park.
