I've never heard a guy say a girl was "too intimidated" by anything about them. Its just not an acceptable excuse. I've heard girls say it a lot. On the other hand I've met plenty of guys and girls who talk about themselves too much, not totally sure this is gendered at all.

I don't even get it. If a date goes poorly, all you can really blame is yourself. Sure, you CAN blame someone else, but you'll never find a solution if you keep doing that. This is pretty much the reflection of the Nice Guy arguments, but most of them won't say those are silly and pointless.

On a side note, I find it funny that I have never met a man who said he is intimidated by women's intellect. It is always women, and I dare say it's always feminist women who say that men are intimidated by them. Which is nothing more than a shaming attempt and an empty boast, a kind of "hear me roar" grrrl power bullshit.

I dunno, I really think that its point is what they say it is. It's way funnier if considered as a gender-flipped version of the common sentiment you hear...but since when has the Onion been anything but sympathetic to feminism, or to general women-are-awesome-men-suck type stuff? Also the picture.

If anything I think this shows that any story these days of the form of "don't you hate how in X situation women are totally reasonable and good and men are evil and crazy?" is regarded as some sort of bold truth-telling about "male privilege", even when any similar anti-female article would cause a national outrage.

It makes me want to start my own fake story like this. Just put any human activity in place of X above, and add in some colorful details and anecdotes, mentions of privilege and other superficial feminist-sounding stuff, and reference to the men committing the alleged offense as "boys" or "dudes", and ones not doing so as "men", and put it on tumblr or something and it'll soon become this massive cultural thing.
