Do you know what I did ? I finished what I was doing on my phone, then followed him. He was waiting on the subway platform, and I would have gone that direction anyways. He saw me approaching from afar, and I stared the motherfucker down. He tried the same and I didn't look away. Didn't blink. Just looked at him. Solid 20 seconds.

Then I said LOUDLY, so that people turned their heads:

"YEAH YOU. HARASSING WOMEN ON THE STREET? DONT GAWK AT ME. DONT WHISPER YOUR DISGUSTING SHIT TO ME. LOOK AT A DIFFERENT DIRECTION. GO HOME TO YOUR PARENTS THEY HAVE WORK TO DO."

He made like a "pff" sound, but blinked and looked away immediately. I walked past him, turned around and looked him straight into his eyes once more. He looked back at me, but again quickly looked away.

"I can't scream back without the fear of getting hurt."

Male sexual aggression on the street in the form of these quick comments or catcalling is. a. bluff. Exact same way a poorly trained dog growls or even snaps at you when you feed it, or a horse pinning its ears.

Imagine if when someone did this in public all women AND men stopped and started shouting and shaming him for his mental illness and speculating that he had erectile dysfunction pointing laughing some yelling... then someone calls cops and he actually gets arrested right on the spot and pays a HEAVY fine for public sexual harassment of women visible to the general public including children - a part of the fine goes to the woman, no less than 100k - put a lien on his house and take all possessions and future earnings if necessary. this behavior would stop so quickly.
