At 22 Alexander Johnson was suspended from the Tenn football team after being falsely accused of rape. He was a 1st round talent but was never drafted. At 26, he was acquitted and joined the Denver Broncos. He played his way into the starting lineup, proved his worth and now is a starting MLB/ILB.

Shaming and condemning men who are strong and powerful as representations of "toxic masculinity" while promoting the exact same traits for women is not equality.

The World Economic Forum's Gender Gap Index is specifically constructed so that it can never show a female advantage

The idea that we can simply be "free from gender norms" is probably not accurate. Science shows humans develop and enforce norms naturally, subconsciously and illogically from an an early age.

If the Johnny Depp case has shown us anything, its that men need to stick together and support each other...we're certainly not going to get it from anywhere else.

Feminism Magazine's Feminism 101 defines toxic masculinity as: "physically strong, unsentimental, and assertive". Here's the science to prove all of those are good for you. (Seriously, even unsentimental is a net positive).

Im sick of men's defense being "not all men". It should be "almost no men". The vast majority of men are not rapists and its about time we acknowledged this.

Does anyone else feel like if you were as strong and confident as you wanted to be, you would be condemned for being toxic?

Well if your heart isn't full of hate. A hate group isn't really what you need.

[–]__Rosso__ 72 points73 points74 points 5 years ago (38 children) | Copy Link

This, people are seeing how toxic feminism is becoming and that it's less and less about gender equality, so those with actual good beliefs who wish best for everyone stop associating themselves with it.

[–]tenchineuro 30 points31 points32 points 5 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link

Or maybe they just see how men react to a woman who says she's a feminist and they dropped the feminist label. In my experience, a feminist by any other name is still as hateful and sexist.

[–]tularir 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think its because most feminists tend to be young women who are naive to the real world. I know a lot of young girls who used to be hard-core feminists but after a few years in work completely hated and wanted to be a traditional woman.

[+]swampwitch116 -8 points-7 points-6 points 5 years ago (34 children) | Copy Link

The men here don't exactly react well at all. Just flying into a hateful rage, and being super rude. Not all of you, but most of you. Just fyi, this doesn't make people want to join you.

[–]tenchineuro 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

It really does not matter what men do or don't do, say or don't say.

It never has in the past.

[–]cicada_4412-2 points 5 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

πŸ˜‚How did this even get an upvote

[–]Adanu0 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Because it's true.

[–]swampwitch116 -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It really isn't.

[–]Adanu0 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And yet, it is.

[–]swampwitch116 -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It does, and when you say feminism is cancer and you are sexist to a woman who says she's a feminist but she cares about mens rights, you just lost a good chance at making someone understand your cause and help it.

[–]masterdarthrevan 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Show me a feminist who cares about men's rights, and I'll show you a yellow submarine that can fly to mars

[–]swampwitch116 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Lol well they may not think feminism is what it actually is. You guys taught me that, but I have a pretty tough skin, so I looked past being called a feminazi bitch/whore/cunt and saw the info you gave, and I decided that I'm not a feminist. But many wouldn't stick around after being bullied like that. That's my point.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You’ve got a point. I’m not an MRA btw, but a β€œsympathiser”. Rage and resentment can be big motivators to do something, but they can blind you too. It’s pointless to get into that sort of poisonous abuse unless the target has exposed themselves as such, rather than simply not knowing any better.

[–]swampwitch116 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you. Yes, I have no issues with being wrong and finding out I'm wrong and adjusting my opinion based on that. I find many people are this way, it's just when you are being given these things very aggressively and to the point where they private message me to insult me, that I figure most people would think this is an unreasonable place.

[–]cicada_44122 points 5 years ago [recovered] (10 children) | Copy Link

Well that depends, you speak respectfully most of them will do so. If you don't..

[–]swampwitch116 -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

That's just false. I've seen women ask simple questions and be told they are a sexist bitch. I've been one of those women. No, most men here are very aggressive and rude. There is a small minority of polite people here.

[–]cicada_44121 points 5 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

You are talking about all 297k compared to 2-3 people?

[–]swampwitch116 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You know that all of those people don't comment. Don't be stupid.

Most of the regularly commenting men here are aggressive and rude. There, that better for ya?

[–]cicada_44121 points 5 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

So you agree most men are not like that but still continued to say so huh?

[–]swampwitch116 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

When have I said most men are like that? Quote me. I'll wait.

[–]Adanu0 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Show me one example of this here.

[–]swampwitch116 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok, I'll copy and paste it here, when I see it again. No problem, won't take too long. Just gotta wait for an unsuspecting feminist to post here asking for some information.

[–]Nobleone11 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The men here don't exactly react well at all. Just flying into a hateful rage, and being super rude.

Let me ask you this:

After the Sarah Everard murder and the subsequent anti-male sentiment it stirred up in addition to a 6pm Male Only Curfew suggested in jest at the House of Lords, can you blame men for lashing out?

If all I received is constant denigration and criticism while getting gaslighted for attempting to have my say in the matter, told women have it worse, I'm giving you lip whether you like it or not.

You need to be grateful men are keeping things running because you'd be singing a different tune if they walked away and systems broke down one after the other.

[–]swampwitch116 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

n you blame men for lashing out?

At that woman? No. At feminism? No. At the women who come here and ask questions? Yes.

I'm giving you lip whether you like it or not.

So youre just gonna be rude to everyone? I guess you aren't trying to help your cause at all then.

You need to be grateful men are keeping things running

I'm very grateful for men. You need to stop assuming things about me.

[–]cicada_44121 points 5 years ago [recovered] (6 children) | Copy Link

Not all of you, but most of you

[–]swampwitch116 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Most of the men who comment here. Context is key. No cherry picking!

[–]cicada_44121 points 5 years ago [recovered] (4 children) | Copy Link

You should make it clear you just said most men here. It doesn't make people wanna listen to you just fyi.

[–]swampwitch116 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I did, when I said the word 'here'. You not knowing how to read doesn't make people wanna listen to you, fyi.

[–]cicada_44121 points 5 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Either way we're not here to talk on grammar are we? I see this is not going anywhere.

[–]swampwitch116 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope, bye bye, then.

[–]Ody_ssey 76 points77 points78 points 5 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

I don't think it's a progress. Self-identifying feminists face lack of success in dating. Feminist ideology dominates in both men and women and this is dominating further.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They'd still answer in a survey though, as that wouldn't affect their social life.

I semi-identify as a "male advocate" but would never suggest so IRL. However, if asked on an anonymous survey, I would likely agree with that identity.

If toxic feminism and anti-male sentiment died down by 2025, I'd probably no longer keep the identity.

[–]tiredfromlife2019 13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes. They still will spout feminist points and live in how they react to men. What they call themselves is of no relevance.

[–]tularir 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Tbh I don't think most people are feminists. Its just a few women who have childhood trauma from a man and believe her experience is the same for every woman. Most women arnt hard core feminists and just think its equality so they support or are young and just take these mentally damaged womens word on how the world works.

[–]tiredfromlife2019 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure. They may not call themselves feminists but they will still spout feminist points, use society and feminists shaming words, happily take the benefits that feminism give them.

Its why I say what they call themselves is of no relevance.

[–]lboswell6 -3 points-2 points-1 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Idk bro, I'm a feminist and I get tons of pussy

[–]Surrender01 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Isn't there a subreddit for this? I have sex or something?

[–]LiberalCombatVet 97 points98 points99 points 5 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

That actually makes a lot of sense when you consider the feminist movement has gone off the rails. They are no longer about equality, instead they are interested in a matriarchy. When a woman tells me she's a feminist these days I immediately roll my eyes and think to myself " I just lost all interest in even talking to this person, forget showing interest in them beyond that." I'd be to worried about a sexual harassment lawsuit for asking them out on a date. πŸ˜…

[–]EmirikolWoker 53 points54 points55 points 5 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

They are no longer about equality, instead they are interested in a matriarchy.

Feminism's first big success was an act of supremacy, creating a society where one class' right to vote was dependent on their obligation to military and civil conscription, and the others' right to vote came from being a citizen. Citizenship rights for both classes and citizenship responsibilities for one class only is supremacy, not equality.

It only goes downhill from here. The foundational principals of all flavours of feminism are inherrently anti-male when you examine what needs to be true for them to accurately describe reality. Feminists can claim that it's "just about equality", but it's equality based on bigotted assumptions, presuming psychopathy on the part of men as a class.

Egalitarian values, and mens rights advocacy in particular, is innately antifeminist.

[–]LuckyFoxPL 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Can you get me a source on that first paragraph? I'm not trying to discredit you, I just don't know what exactly to search on google to get that information.

[–]EmirikolWoker 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The phrasing came from Alison Tieman's video.

As for sources, there are plenty of primary sources during on the subject, though I found one US-focused page talking about it by searching for "voting rights and conscription".

[–]LuckyFoxPL 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm, I read the article and it didn't seem to mention that men had to fight while women didn't and that men in the army were the only men that could vote, unless that's just my brain fucking up. The video does, but it could always be making it up unless I'm completely misunderstanding the issue.

[–]Spartan-417 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Women were conscripted in the UK for war industries (munitions works and the like)

It’s definitely gone off the rails

[–]Criket 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Didn't hear of women being used as a meat shield on the front line... and they still probably complain because of sexism.

[–]EmirikolWoker 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Can you link me to a source showing women were conscripted, rather than job-opportunities opening up to them? I was under the impression that they were encouraged, rather than forced by the state.

Even if that was the case, conscription in the UK lasted until 1963, with conscription justified as a citizenship responsibility in exchange for citizenship rights like the vote. As such, men and women gained equal voting rights in 1963, when the responsibilities and rights matched.

https://www.parliament.uk/about/living-heritage/transformingsociety/private-lives/yourcountry/overview/conscriptionww2/

The conscription was pretty limited, but it was a conscription

[–]EmirikolWoker 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Thanks for the source. That said, I'm not sure the conscription of men and women is in quite the same league (factory work, while dangerous, doesn't have people actively shooting you, nor the threat of a firing squad if you refuse).

[–]d_nijmegen 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If I could choose to live the war, female or male young adult. I would choose female. Hindsight 20/20 and still would today. That's why I hoped for a daughter. At least I will have to teach her to only fear some men. Not also the state and courts.

[–]NohoTwoPointOh 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

At least I will have to teach her to only fear some men

And other women, if we go by statistics, but...

[–]Dogrose22 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As a woman, my experience is that women have a lot more to fear from other women than men, while I’ve met, and know some wonderful women, I have suffered far more harm, both physical and emotional from women than I ever have from men.

[–]d_nijmegen -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's her mothers job. I can only provide the male perspective on it. Women have a very particular set of tools.

[–]sofjiihdd 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So are you trying to say that working in war industries is as bad as being in the war

[+]Spartan-417 -7 points-6 points-5 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, just pointing out some women were called up as well

[–]sofjiihdd 10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How were they called up. Being called up refers to being called to battle

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the way I always understood it, but I looked it up anyway.

conΒ·scripΒ·tion /kΙ™nˈskripSH(Ι™)n/
noun: conscription
* compulsory enlistment for state service, typically into the armed forces. * "conscription was extended to married men"

Apparently it's compulsory enlistment into state service. Color me surprised.

[–]tenchineuro 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They are no longer about equality

They never were about equality (whatever that means). It was always straight-up female advocacy.

[–]Throwaway_Old_Guy 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or worse because you didn't take them out out on a date.

It has become a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

[–]jonnyhaldane 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is the most successful political movement of all time. It achieved its goals in a couple of decades and now wields so much power it’s just used to get women free stuff.

[–][deleted] 31 points32 points33 points 5 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I hope feminism disappears altogether. It has fucked the corporate, entertainment and gaming worlds hard enough.

[–]LancLad1987 -5 points-4 points-3 points 5 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I'm interested to know what you mean by gaming, like the characters? Or in proffessional gaming?

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 5 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Characters and plot. We've had strong and meaningful female leads (Hellblade, Heavenly Sword, Ninety Nine Nights, I could go on). These days? If a woman abuses other characters, takes bad decision and gets people killed, ultra cruel, she's a strong and independent female character. Oh and have a look at Last of Cuss 2.

On a side note, forcing an ugly black female (remember many black females are attractive but they seem to design/pick ugly ones) with short hair and being a complete clusterfuck as a character doesn't help either.

I don't know much or give two hoots about professional gaming, so I won't comment on that.

[–]LancLad1987 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I think because I only play mainstream games I don't really see that much of a change. Plus, overly sexualised women still dominate the mobile gaming market so I always assumed feminism hadn't gotten there yet.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To be honest, mobile games and apps always slip under the radar. Well, maybe you're playing Doom. But the change is apparent.

Hang on, why the fuck am I getting downvoted for asking a question? Fuck me reddit is toxic af sometimes. I'm a bloke in a men's rights sub asking a simple question. It isnt like I slapped an orphan or something

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lmao I didn't downvote you. I see similar trends everywhere. A guy was spewing nonsense about automatic gearboxes in r/carsindia and I called bullshit on that. I've never been downvoted that hard in my life. Fucker couldn't even type properly. At the end of the day, downvotes don't matter. Nothing matters in life anymore.

[–]Mjacking -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Both main characters in TLOU2 aren't present conventionally as strong and independent women. They are byproducts of an endless cycle of desperation and revenge. No a single person that finished the game says "holly fuck, those chixs are so cool and independent" nor is the intention of the developers.

Naughty Dog didn't give them at any moment the feeling of being right or being role models. And then an ugly black person should be only a smart character that outweighs the fact that they are ugly not allowing them the chance to have range. Did you even play the game, man?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Here we go again.

[–]Mjacking -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Agree , man. Seeing the same poor elaborated bullshit wrote by gamersβ„’is exhausting to say the least.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Likewise for wilfulness to defend that crap. People like you are often the reason men are treated like secons grade citizens. As they say, the enemy within. As for "Gamers", I don't you really play games or know about much either. I took an educated guess about your involment in gaming and I stand corrected. Anyway, we will never agree with each other. Hence, further discussin with you is moot. Have a nice day.

[–]Mjacking -2 points-1 points0 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Looking around your reddit history I would make a guess and say that you are from India. You guys have a serious problem with misogyny there. No wonder the weird twisted incel bs that you like to spit all over this website.

Pd: btw before you call me out for being xenophobic I'm just stating that particular issue that's exists right know in your country, I hope you can figure that out sooner than later.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are quite literally blind to what is going on in the world. Well, I hope you can save you from yourself before it's too late.

[–]LegendaryEmu1 25 points26 points27 points 5 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Thats actually an impressive drop in public support.

Much like with many other things, people, although it took them a bit, are waking up to the bullshit, and they do not like it.

Although i think the many claims that a virus that has caused the deaths of men at a much greater rate than women, yet that women were worse off, helped cinch it.

What is sad is you act like a twelve year old, and yes, clusterfuck of language. People who are too lazy or stupid to be bothered to type whole words usually do so because they have the same failings in real life.

Emojis and bad punctuation(or lack of any) help confirm this.

[–]lboswell6 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It just sounds like you're an incompetent, egotistical, small penis-ed dumbass who believes the world and women owe you something; I could be wrong though, I do use emojis after all, so what the fuck do I know.

They might not identify as feminists but they still love and enjoy the system that feminists have created. I don't see enough women speaking up against misandry and discrimination against men. Their actions betray their words.

They are just feminists without the tag because the tag carries some negativity nowadays. I still consider the majority of women as feminists and my opinion isn't going to change unless I see women speaking up against misandry and try to do something to change it.

Yup, that is my point exactly.

[–]smeltaway[S] 16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agreed. That said, I think the majority of work on that has to come from us. They're not going to actively dismantle something that is benefiting them

[–]PorkBomber 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True and that is where the problem lies. 80%+ men out there are simps who don't even know they're getting discriminated against and could care less even if they knew it. However, women absolutely need to speak up and support men, otherwise, they're hypocrites.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No feminists around when the world’s in trouble and women lose their jobs. Suddenly everyone wants to be traditional again lol.

[–]Yoshiezibz 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminist movement has refused to adapt to the changing times. They should recognise that maybe mens rights have failed to improve. They refuse to admit that men are nearly 50% of the domestic violence victims and between 30-40% of the sexual assault victims.

"The decline in women who consider themselves as feminists is perhaps more concerning. "

Not to me it isn't! The"woke culture" is starting to wake up to facts not feelings.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"The decline in women who consider themselves as feminists is perhaps more concerning. It may be that fewer now feel the need to be feminist in a less stereotyped world, but it may also be that the word is seen to lack sufficient impact."

It's not concerning given what feminism is today in developed countries, and I really hope the article's suggested cause is not the case but instead sane women realizing that radical feminists are not about equality but dominance, hate and sexism.

[–]codemancode 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even if it was only 1%, they are a VERY vocal minority, and in the current woke culture they would still take precedent.

[–]lessthanmoreorless 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's almost as if the new brand of feminism (i.e. male hate) turns off a lot of sensible women who just want to be treated equally (the original feminism).

I'm glad, this male hate agenda has to stop.

Feminism is like a pandemic. We need to find vaccine for this virus.

[–]lboswell6 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Okay incel, settle down

[–]RandyRenegade 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Hear me out, I feel like this is a negative thing. I have no love for feminism but I do have love for general progressivism, and my guess, knowing how politics works is that peolpe are getting turned away from progressivism alongside feminism. In other words, I predict that feminism gives progressivism a bad name.

[–]smeltaway[S] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Tbh, I suspect you're right. I think people tend to lump socialism, feminism and BLM together and turning people off from any one of the 3 hurts the others. That said, I think Corbyn did a lot of the damage himself.

[–]1320Hunan 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I remember when the feminist group was made for equal rights and now it is just a group towards hating men

[–]tenchineuro 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What do you remember?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I once heard of a fairy tales of a world of old. There were feminist who simply wanted to vote and work...then they died out and we're replaced with purple haired banshees whining about everything being unfair and men's fault. Denying what men have built and suffered in the past.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I once heard of a fairy tales of a world of old. There were feminist who simply wanted to vote and work...

Don't kid yourself, they may not have had red hair., but they were more anti-male than pro-female even then.

From the first recognized feminist document, the Declaration of Sentiments signed in 1848 in Seneca Falls NY.

  • The history of mankind is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations on the part of man toward woman, having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over her. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

If you read carefully it's basically the same as patriarchy theory which says that all men oppress all women for men's benefit.

[–]lboswell6 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Is it though? I'm a dude and get pussy on the reg, can't say I hate dudes lmao.

[–]BringTheFingerBack 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminist was a bit of a buzz word for a few years but it's losing popularity. Plenty of woman that identified as feminist didn't really know anything past the 'girl power!' stage. Heck I know more about feminism that most feminists I've met...not sure if that's a good thing on my part or not πŸ˜‚

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I highly doubt this data. It actually is probably the opposite, with a 27% increase. Sure seems like more women are becoming feminists rather than leaving the cult.

[–]CyclopeWarrior 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well the heart of the article is saying that because "society doesnt push women to stereotypes anymore" they don't feel the need to identify as feminists. It's still delusions.

[–]d_nijmegen 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It fits my own experience. The reasonable women leave feminism. The radical ones stick with it and get louder.

[–]haa119 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I know they are becoming more and more self entitled little pricks.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But I thought things were getting worse....

[–]smeltaway[S] 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think its like the difference between velocity and acceleration. Feminism existing drives things getting worse, but because they are losing support, they have less strength to change things so its getting worse more slowly

To my fellow men in here, I'm sorry, but stop thinking this has ANYTHING to do with us or men in general.

It has nothing to do with dating. Thats how men think - not women

Men are objects to women meant to add value to their life FOR OTHER WOMEN

This is about terfs, trans issues, and issues related to what women care about. Things that have little to do with men

Also this is the first economic crash since the real rise of smart phones and a truly globally connected internet. Women are now seeing what the world is like when resources are not in surplus - millenial women are hitting their 30s and swot Hong to wanting to be trad moms now - remember this when dating

[–]RockmanXX 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

millenial women are hitting their 30s and want to be trad moms now

Oh, but they've "matured" and learned the errros of their ways and now want a Mr.Good Enough to shoulder the burden of their lives.

What does this have to do with men's rights?

[–]SnooBeans6591 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

A sexist movement which actively tries to create sexist laws and discriminate against men looses it's support. That's progress.

https://np.reddit.com/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates/comments/lec134/re_do_you_guys_hate_feminism/

Thank you for asking the question

[–]Creep2T3 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is super interesting and helpful, thanks. Never would've called myself anti-feminist before but I'm gonna give it some thought now.

Why'd you comment twice?

[–]SnooBeans6591 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Buggy internet connection... I actually commented trice.

[–]Creep2T3 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]smeltaway[S] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Have you not noticed feminism affecting men? False accusations? Public condemnation?

[–]Creep2T3 -1 points0 points1 point 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Okay, I already changed my mind because of another reply, but what you're saying:

Is feminism responsible for false rape accusations? Or are horrible, opportunistic people (mostly women) and a broken justice system that empowers them?

[–]smeltaway[S] 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I think people often misattribute cause and effect. The feminist movement is the one responsible for the current justice system. They are the ones who have advocated believe all women, pushed for title IX laws for guilty until proven innocent, etc. I don't think we arrived here of our own accord.

[–]Creep2T3 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What's title IX laws?

[–]smeltaway[S] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Basically its laws that govern how allegations of sexual assault are handled on campus (among other things). They used to allow both sides to present evidence, and require that evidence could be shown that demonstrated wrongdoing.

That was changed in the 2010s to a system under which the accused is guilty until proven innocent, and iron-clad proof that nothing happened was required. Given that's very hard to do, its led to a lot of expulsions based simply on a verbal accusation. Since a college education is increasingly important, this basically destroys their life based on what one person said.

[–]Creep2T3 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Holy fuck I knew accusations were bad on campuses but I didn't know that's how it worked. That's disgraceful.

What part of the world is this?

US

[–]Nikkelode 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, feminism earned itself a bad name from SJW extremists. Lets hope MRA doesn't fall into extremism.

[–]Samurai_Kamata_Kun 0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We're finally making progress! I honestly thought men's rights was a lost cause and the feminists would just shut us all out because of wage gap bullshit etc undermining the real issues. This gives me hope.
