I just found this sub yesterday, ironically, from a post that was bashing it (I wonder if they realize negative attention is STILL attention, like how they say ‘there’s no such thing as bad publicity’)

So I came over to see what’s SO wrong about this place. Are the women here really ‘angry, lonely, bitter single women who are miserable and hate men,’ as they were described?

I gotta say, I find it absolutely SHOCKING how you ladies expect, nay, DEMAND to be treated with respect. How you don’t accept being walked over or used. I mean, what is so wrong about letting a man waste your time when he’s not that into you?!

Lmao, okay no.. but seriously.

I’ve been looking through a lot of what’s here, and I would say that the majority is the mentality I’ve developed in the past couple of years and I’ve always been so frustrated when I see girlfriends of mine settle for ‘good enough,’ not realizing that ‘good enough’ is him putting an effort because it’s the beginning and he’ll soon settle to the default of mediocre.

One quick story about a friend of mine - -

I have a gf who’s very feminist (don’t get me wrong, of course I am all for women's rights, but I don’t agree with some of her pov’s, but that’s something else to unpack) and her and her bf split all costs. Rent, dinners, everything. I think I only ever saw him pay for her once bc it was her bday.

I mean, technically that’s not bad, it’s modern. It isn’t the relationship I’d pick for myself, but to each his own, right? As long as she’s happy, supported, and he’s a loving partner?

Well. What if I told you that in the two years they’ve been together he’s never said the words “I love you”............ but she’ll tell you he shows his love through actions…..

Or the fact that he wasn’t ‘that into her’ in the beginning but she persisted because she felt a strong connection and the ‘sex was amazing’

And the fact that she’s working on HIS startup when she’s not working her own job (for no pay/compensation of course, since a startup isn’t profitable yet)

This man basically has a roommate with benefits (both business and sexual/intimacy benefits)

This is just one example of the stuff I’ve seen that I find so incredibly shocking.

I don’t want to go on a tangent here, but I think that it’s way too common to see women we consider smart, successful, etc. settle for much less than they deserve.

From a young age I noticed how 'high-maintenance' women always seemed to have men who respected and valued them. And the more 'fun, go-with-the-flow' ones had a mix bag. Sometimes a good man, but WOW, did they put up with some losers at times because they're so 'chill' and 'easygoing.'

I've made my own fair-share of mistakes dating, but it's always been when I make excuses for men. Ever. Single. Time. If you find yourself justifying a man's behavior or embarrassed to tell a friend what happened, girl, sorry to quote a cliche, but he's just not that into you, move on!

Men who don't want you will use you!

Sorry for my rant though!

I just find it so outrageous how expecting respect and love AND NOT SETTLING is so unpopular.

The fact that people, like my friend above, are described as 'ride or die' chicks, even though she's getting walked all over. That's a true babe, but me not wanting a second date with a guy because he asks to go dutch is 'gold-digger'

How is it that this mentality for women isn't the majority?
