Not surprising. What group brought us VAWA, the ACA, the Dear Colleague letter, and tried to put men at the bottom of the list for PPP loans? I don't say this to argue for one group over another, I think they both have their problems but one has clearly shown less interest in men's issues.

So called “progressive politics” basically IS feminism these days. Or imposing feminist logic on other “identities” which gives us contemporary “identity politics”.

Plus these “progressives” as well as continually demonising men, have actually imposed real injuries, such as Lhamon’s Title IX kangaroo courts and the blatant favouritism of women in education and employment even though they’re already the dominant group in that age bracket. Plus the Dems make it plain they don’t need or want men anymore, as the future is female and they’ve got a massive number of immigrants (apparently immigrant/“minority” men aren’t men, well until the laws kick in anyway).

So it’s hardly surprising young guys feel estranged from that political group. The only wonder is that it isn’t even more of them.

Liberal policies bring more privileges for women and high amount of benevolent sexism on the name of equality so it's not surprising to see more women are fond of liberaism.

This is why politicians mostly target women population as their voter bank in their social welfare policies. Women have huge and highly organized social movements. By convincing elite woman leaders in these groups, they gain support of woman voters in masses. This is a very successful strategy. Justin Trudeau and Spain socialist party do the same thing.

They see every day that women will be handed every advantage possible, women will get accepted to college, get scholarships, offered jobs, given higher pay, be allowed to destroy any man they choose with a single word, get away with crimes, take a mans life entire life savings, steal his children, on and on ...and if they say a word about they are subjected to 're-education' about toxic masculinity.

You'd have to have a special kind of Stockholm Syndrome to be a young male and identify as liberal.

It's not surprising, but not for the reasons you think. Yeah, dems have demonized men a little, but the bigger player is women's healthcare is now front and center thanks to the overturn of Roe and conservatives aren't really hiding the fact that they want to remove contraception coverage from insurances.

Neither party really helps men so it's not surprising there's not much shift there when compared to women leaning far more towards being liberal to protect their health coverage.

Unfortunately, I'd never actually accused the Republicans of being Conservative.

They don't represent family values. Many of them have either been divorced six times are in denial about their sexuality, have children out of wedlock, or should be under suspicion for child abuse. None of those are conservative family values.

They don't represent small business owners and entrepreneurs, not when they take money from giant corporations and enact laws the enable regulatory capture that sustains the cartel-like nature of our major industries.

They don't represent the average worker, who wants some vacation time and some protection from exploitative employment practices. They don't go after things like wage theft or even enforcing some degree of honesty on the part of employers towards employees.

They don't represent the consumer, who often has to guess at the total cost of a product or service and can't get things repaired in part because of IP laws, and often have to guess about what materials have been used to create a product.

They don't represent children, parents, or community members when money that should be funding schools or community centers just evaporates with nothing being done, or they buy whatever tech gadget some sales dude sold them on for the school system instead of paying teachers more.

They don't represent really anyone when it comes to health care, they represent the health insurance companies as best I can guess.

No, Republicans aren't really conservative at all. They aren't interested in the least in conserving the good, healthy parts of the American way of life while advocating caution when trying to change things that might put that at risk.

I consider myself fairly conservative, honestly... but not the sort of conservative that the Republicans proport to be.

People try to use liberal like it's a bad word. What did liberals do that was so offensive to the Republican party? I'll tell you what they did. Liberals got women the right to vote. Liberals got African-Americans the right to vote. Liberals created Social Security and lifted millions of elderly people out of poverty. Liberals ended segregation. Liberals passed the Civil Rights Act, the Voting Rights Act. Liberals created Medicare. Liberals passed the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act. What did Conservatives do? They opposed them on every one of those things every one. So when you try to hurl that label at my feet, 'Liberal,' as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work, Senator, because I will pick up that label and I will wear it as a badge of honor.

Let's try to see the bright side. 44 is less than 50. They technically qualify as a minority. I hope it stays that way and I really, really want to think that the world is full of good young women who would be great wives and mothers. The jump from 30% to 44% for women is a pretty large percentage. However, I can see why.

The drop from 27% to 25% isn’t that big.

As a younger male who leans left I can absolutely see why other men are not as eager to embrace progressivism. There are many facets of the left who do not care much for men. Let alone white men.

This leaves the door open for the fascists and populists to welcome them with open arms.

Edit: You conservatives really are a touchy bunch. You cannot make a point or a clear argument to save your life but you sure can downvote HARD from your mother's basements.

Liberalism to me means respecting people, in terms of their religions and freedoms. Gay marriage, abortion freedom, those types of things. Letting people choose how they want to live.

I don't get how that's an attack on men. Maybe if you are a real piece of shit and can no longer get away with beating your wife or forcing a woman to not get an abortion... Then maybe that's bad for you.

Yeah, gee, wonder how that happened? Perhaps the relentless tax cuts for the wealthy, the constant denial of climate science, gerrymandering states beyond all recognition, being against gay marriage, being against legal weed, support of denying abortion rights, etc etc etc

I could list these things all day. What is surprising is that so many young men identify with a party that hates nearly everyone except the ultra religious and the extremely wealthy.

I don't think it will fully course correct in a satisfactory and just way but there has to be some correction because the clown world left policies are destroying civilization at an extremely rapid pace. The left is basically a cult at this point but the financial and energy destruction they are inflicting on the world is breaking the hold of the cult in some people. Concern for men from a place of empathy will unfortunately never be the motivation for them to change though.
