The "[Being a] Real Man" thing is just complete bullshit. It's literally used – by both feminists, leftists and right-wingers – to basically erase all of a man's individuality and personality, reducing the entirety of being "a man" to "be an overworking, supermuscular, never-complaining, sacrificable living wallet".
Sry if I sound harsh, but this topic really makes me furious.

You're right. I've been obsessing over this phenomenon for a while.

I consider it manipulative and abusive.

I've had a misandrist who is a higher up say "what a real man is" when she literally has the power to put men under her boot heal and you can't do anything about it. She receives all the dividends of your effort. And concerns.

It's just as a bad when men say it, no matter how it makes you feel.

The entire idea is based on the concept that masculinity is conditional, based on your behavior and specifically how much of your behavior is benefiting people other than you.

It's about controlling men, and holding their own self image and self esteem hostage in order to extract resources.

You are a man already, not because of what you choose to do, sound like, say, or wear. Nothing anyone says can change this.

When women say 'a real man wouldn't do xyz' they have only ever said so
to manipulate me into feeling rubbish about myself so i do something
they want - a real man carries heavy things - a real man changes a car
tyre - all shit that benefits them.

Want a good laugh? Imagine the reaction you'd get if you told a woman "If you were a real woman, you'd do what I'm asking..."

When it comes to men and masculinity, this whole "real men" business and philosophy is a big scam if you are not careful. I agree with you OP on a lot of things you said in your OP, but you need to keep in mind that it's also entirely possible for other men to take advantage of this scam and unleash it on you.

For example, a clever man belonging to the top 20 percent could say: "hey Largest_Half, if you are a real man, you'd join my gang/political party/military and go to X or Y war/conflict/clash/protest/riot and risk your life to achieve A or B objective.". There could be hundreds of thousands of different variations to this but hopefully you get my point (?).

And of course, women do that too. "If you Largest_Half are a real man, you'd do X Y or Z to benefit me and help me achieve my objective. If you are a real man, you wouldn't have any issue with my sleeping around with 30 other men, or sell my body on OnlyFans etc.". Or she could say things like "if you want me to be turned on by you, you have to be X feet tall, or pay all my bills, or do all the housework". Using the "real man" scam, one could conjure up all sort of things to force you to submit to their demands.

Just to give you a real world example, look at how women would label a man as "deadbeat" when he doesn't pay child support, although men have little to no control or rights when it comes to whether he wants a child or not. It's the woman who decides whether she wants to abort or give birth, but you are a "deadbeat" and not a real man if she chooses to give birth and you don't want to support her decision financially for 18 years.

I hope you realize that the "real man" trick could be used by both men and women in numerous ways to inflict irreversible harm on your body, psychology and sexuality. If you still don't get it, I highly suggest you meditate on this issue harder and do some more research. The key thing to keep in mind is that nobody - whether they are men or women - is perfect.

The most "real man" thing would be to not give a flying fuck about what others are doing... as long as they don't hurt others.

I don't care if you are some machoman deadlifting 500kg (thats roughly 4410 in american quarterpounders)

I don't care if you are some DIY leggend in the woods that somehow manage to start a tractor using only morning dew and a hammer.

I don't care if you are a femboi, who have xyz pronounce.

Where i do care, is when that is applied onto what others should do. We can discuss whats right, healthy, wrong, perverted... but the manliest thing would be to not giving a fuck what others are doing.

personally I don't support it mostly for two reasons

A. its only used to try and extract resources from men to women. I've never heard a man talking about what it means to be a man or what a "real man is" in my life. I've only ever heard it used by a woman to try and force a man to normally give them money. I don't subscribe to any religions and I don't believe in traditionalism so in my perspective im not here to serve as a woman's foot stool. and no amount of trying to cancel me will ever change my opinion there.

B. its one dimensional as hell, I restore Pontiac prix fish and hunt, shoot guns, I take lead when it needs to happen, and im physically strong.

but I wear ONE skirt and suddenly the world looses their shit apparently all of the above mentioned traits are null because a piece of fabric, but kilts are fine aparently. there's nothing biological about this madness it was very common for men in the stone age to wear beads and shells in their hair to cook and clean as well as hunt and forage. because if you didnt know how to cook youd fucking die. im a outdoors man nature doesn't give a shit about your gender it just wants you dead.
