Figured I'd turn here for this. You guys have helped in more ways than I could ever repay.

Me (45m) will be moving out at the end of the month. PSA already signed and paid out of marital home. My question is, at 45, do I:

  1. Buy house and pay on it till I die, leaving my son (7) the debt?

  2. Rent a house big enough for the 2 of us? (I know this is just pissing $$$ away).

  3. Stay with parents till $$$ is stacked up and build? (1 yr max). I did build marital home.

I mean, the market is shit. I'm not trying to settle for something I have to pay on and hate when I walk in the door. Parents are cool and have the whole upstairs for ourselves (50/50) split. Could possibly inherent the house plus 6 acres (not trying to rush them along). Apartment life is a no-go. Grew up in the country.

Otherwise, I'm feeling pretty damn good (burned the pedestal I had her on in the fire pit while reading NMMNG). I'm just ready to move on with life. Don't need getting over her advice. That's already done thanks to this sub. Any advice to the above would be appreciated.
