Need some advice…I love my wife dearly, we’ve been married 10 years. About 6-8 months ago I noticed her interest in our relationship waning. She has little to no interest in emotional connection, spending quality time, being present, even fighting or arguing. She refuses to acknowledge any of these issues exist much less try to work on solutions. I’ve tried talking about these things several times. Initially, she was understanding and reassured me nothing had changed with regard to her feelings, attraction, or how she viewed our relationship. But nothing at all has changed with regard to her actions and no attempts have been made to address any of these issues. In fact, her increasing indifference to the health of our relationship is what worries me the most.
Regrettably, the more she becomes distant, the harder I try to make her happy which creates a cycle that pushes her further away. Needless to say, I’m ready to let go of the rope. I don’t want to threaten her with divorce but it is something I have been thinking about because I fear it’s the only card left I have to play. How can I let her know how dire I feel the situation has become without sounding like I’m threatening her or giving her some kinda ultimatum? Any suggestions or advice? I sincerely want to save my marriage and I’m afraid my wife is completely indifferent. She says all the right things but her behavior says something completely different.
