Porn is basically free and gives you access to as many naked women as you want (and any kind of women you want).

I don't see any downsides.

Women get buttmad over it because it makes it harder for them to use sex to manipulate and control men. Because realistically women's main leverage is pussy. That's why their go-to insults involve mocking a man's inability to get pussy- you can't get laid, you're gay, etc. And their go to move is denying a man access to pussy.

That's why they hate any sexual outlets for men. They want to maintain a pussy cartel monopoly over male sexual release. Realistically social media has many more negative effects than porn. There's no scientific evidence that porn use has led to an increase in male suicides, for example. Whereas there's a bunch of evidence of social media leading to higher rates of suicides in girls, spread of misinformation, political extremism, etc. But yet people whinge about porn.

In the field of economics, there's this concept of "utility"

You can compare the utility of any two things. (I'll start with an example involving women and marriage because we all know that if I don't specifically use this example, blue-pillers will feign offensive over the idea of men using the concept to express their interests) For example, a woman might compare the expected utility of marriage and children against the expected utility of staying single, dating around, and focusing on career. There's nothing at all wrong with her making that comparison.

When economists conduct experiments, they make small adjustments in order to find the point at which the utility of one thing becomes greater than the utility of another.

For example, they might start by offering people a free cookie from a restaurant (let's say, Subway) or offering them a coupon for a cookie (which means they have to physically go to the restaurant). If they find that most people choose the cookie now vs. the coupon, then they'll repeat the experiment and offer a coupon for two cookies.

They up the number until they find a point where they can say, "the expected utility of a free cookie now is equal to the utility of X cookies plus the trouble of traveling to a Subway restaurant."

Society has been conducting an experiment on men. What is the expected utility of the type of women you could reasonably expect to marry several decades ago, vs. what you get from porn, which is just pics/videos and your imagination?

In 1990 (just to pick a year I'm familiar with) you could reasonably hope to marry while young (in your 20s) to a woman close to your own age, of similar looks, and with few or no sexual partners, who was pleasant to be around (not too demanding).

Do you take that deal? Or do you choose porn?

Most men take that deal. So, let's change the dynamic. Let's add more demands. Let's make them older. Let's make them jaded from years of dating men who were always out of their league. Let's make you have to work really, really hard .... etc and etc.

That's not true for every man. But whether it's true for you personally depends entirely on how women treat you. There's a certain number of hoops you can be asked to jump through, where it stops being a "good deal"

You can say that it's bad for your brain. Maybe so. That should factor into your utility calculation. But at some point, you have to admit that you're just being rational by choosing it (or choosing to disengage) if that's the way the math turns out.
