What is a "patriarchal trait"? I'd assume it refers to discriminating against women in some way. But you're talking about people having money or status, and they could be devoted feminists with those traits. As for why people like those, well, neither men nor women want to live with little money or to be with someone that society thinks lowly of (and perhaps have their own status lowered by association).

How is being able to earn money a “patriarchal trait”? It sounds more like it’s just a “survival trait” (at least with how our society is set up) which I would imagine would be desirable with or without a patriarchy.

“Social status” is monkey brain stuff I think, think of kids that won’t be friends with you if you are not a “popular kid” as they might lose their status being seen with you. Even men are less attracted to the awkward weird girl no one likes and more attracted to the popular chick everyone is into. Primates tend to have complex social hierarchies, a patriarchy isn’t required for that.

What people say and how they act are two very different things. Most people say what they feel they ought to say to be seen in the best possible way by their peers. You don’t need to ask reddit for this, just look around you and what kind of men your women friends find attractive and are coupling with.

Go Google "hypergamy in women" and you'll actually find that the number of hyoergamous women has been steadily dropping for the last hundred years. In the UK, over 80% of women married withing their social class or under. The dudes here aren't representative of most men. They're the ones who struggle and then go to forums like these. And it's easier to blame women's "hypergamy" despite the actual numbers than accept that they are unlikeable for whatever reason.

Personally I'm not attracted to money or status, I grew up in that world and have zero interest in moving in it again. It's all skin-deep prettyiness to hide the rott underneath. And the richer/higher a man's social status, the easier it is for him to get away with shit. Not to mention how emotionally stunted many of the men my age in that class are. Not my cup of tea.

Depends on the age of the women and on their socio-political views. There are also feminists who are into traditional masculinity, despite hating themselves for it.

Overall, i think you should be moderate, to have the most success, if that is what you want to optimize.

Age is relevant as wealth and social status really don't matter that much for young women. You can fuck 20 young women and will never be asked about your income or wealth. You can have college relationships and not have a job and totally be dependent on your parents.

Yes. What has changed for men for the better in the past 100 years? Absolutely nothing.

The only thing that has changed is that they now have more responsibility than ever, because now they are expected to do half of the woman's job on top of their own.

Women force men to uphold "patriarchy" through mate selection while simultaneously blaming all men for causing it including the ones that are ignored for mating purposes (and don't even contribute to it); so these men can feel worse about themselves than they already do, and then give their resources to women for free as reparations.

Research shows a clear hierarchy of men who get laid and into relationships with women.

By "patriarchal traits," do you mean traditional masculinity? In my case, yes, I am attracted to those traits, but I also am traditionally feminine.

"Feminism" is just a term people use to describe any social movement which serves (or purports to serve) the collective interests of women.

Where gender roles are disadvantageous to women, feminists oppose them. Where gender roles are advantageous to women, feminists support them. There isn't any principled moral reasoning going on here, it's just ethical egoism.

I think that being attracted to money is at it's historical lows. Many years ago poor choice of husband would lead to misery for woman, and not on the level of self-fullfilment but on biological level, she might be malnourished and die because of regular cold. Nowadays women have comfort of seeking different qualities in partners: looks, education, non-violence, ability to have good time together etc. Material status is important, everyone needs money to live - but still, we have plenty of relatively well-off guys who are rejected because of some mental flaws or bad looks.

Of course they are. Women are rejecting their traditional gender roles, but they still expect men to adhere to theirs. They can yap about equality all they want, but the truth is none of them would ever give a chance to a man that didn’t pay for the first date. So as a man you still need to be masculine while the women around you are the least feminine generation ever.
