So I believe online dating ruins peoples mentalities for dating and pushes the genders further apart.

For starters, alot of women can get matches as easily as just downloading an app and putting 5 of the worst pictures of yourself up. Now I know there are alot of women that do put their best foot forward and im not trying to discredit them at all but alot of the accounts Ive seen personally were pretty low effort. And not all but most accounts get a shit ton of likes no matter what.

As a guy its the complete opposite. Your lucky to get a match let alone multiple. And if you do get multiple matches they either A. Don't respond B. Are bots or C. Trying to sell their content to you. And the amount of accounts that had requirements like 6 foot up please, if you dont have muscles swipe left basically kills any self esteem you have.

Most women who get on the apps who are average are now getting likes and matching with guys who are way above average who for the most part just want to fuck them and nothing else. But for whatever reason average woman don't understand that they do not and in most cases will not want a relationship with them. But they still hold out for one of these guys to get into a relationship with them even though it never happens 90 percent of the time. For average looking guys its the opposite. They maybe hookup once if at all and are basically made to feel useless. And getting a good relationship as an average guy is just as hard if not even harder than trying to hookup.

But one thing that online dating hasn't changed is women still like the guy to make the first move. I read a post on reddit the other day about a women who hates that men don't make the first move anymore. Now I do feel that guys no longer making the first move is not necessarily all online datings fault. Theres a couple things such as social skills going out the window and the fact that every place you go to is off limits for flirting or trying to ask someone out and most peoples hobbies being either video games or social media. But I feel online dating is such an ego killer for men there is no point an trying. I know every girl doesn't want a 6 foot tall absolutely jacked D1 football player but I have seen so many profiles with something like that, that it makes you say fuck it why should I risk my mental health trying to purse any girl who could hope on an app and get someone way better looking.

Now im not trying to make this a men vs women thing because I know there are men that kill it on the apps and I know there are women who either get very little matches or are on the apps looking for a genuine relationship and have to dig through mountains of shit. But I feel online dating has made the average women feel like a 10 rather than a 5 and made the average man feel like a 0 rather than a 5. Causing a major unbalance in dating.
