I recently watched a dating show ( love after divorce Korea )and the woman bought mugs for her and her final pick with their first initials on them, and then also these goofy shirts that read “ if lost, return to _____ “ featuring a cute/funny photo of the other person’s face. The guy absolutely cracked up and they drank their coffees out of those cups and wore the shirts out on a date together. It was really endearing and cute.

Make him something! My man and I come from very different backgrounds and I agree it is intimidating to buy something for someone who already has everything they could want. There’s a board game that we play together almost every day, so the best gift I’ve ever gotten for him was when I hand painted an entire board for him and all the pieces in his favorite colors. I made it kind of artsy-looking so that the board itself would be a nice centerpiece for a coffee table and the art would change as you play the game!

He loved it because the game is meaningful to us and because it was so personalized. He is always super touched with handmade gifts, much more than any fancy thing I could buy him.

Man here. In my opinion, no man will ever be disappointed to receive a quality knife as a gift. It has to be one of the easiest & safest gifts for a guy, and he doesn't even have to be a collector to appreciate it. You can browse for some ideas at r/KnifeClub & r/BudgetBlades, and there are many Christmas sales posted right now on r/KnifeDeals. Kizer & Civivi are two brands I'd recommend that offer a lot of value for the price and present well as gifts. Many models under $100.

If you get something with G10/micarta scales in any color other than black, you can even dye it to make it semi-custom for him, and you can find many simple tutorials for this online. No tools/disassembly necessary either, just submerge the whole thing and rub it down liberally with mineral oil afterward, making sure it's dry and that you've oiled all the nooks & crannies. It's a very easy project to make him something I'm sure he'd both use & treasure.

I think you should make him something. I don’t know what sort of things you make, but I embroider so the last two years I embroidered people presents. This year I’m making personalized watercolor paintings for everyone. I’ve also made people chairs, cutting boards, welded a truck bed frame once, I’ve also gifted homemade fancy meals as I consider myself a good cook and I make a great cocktail.

If going the cooking route, I’d make a save the date style card that he can open for an invite to your homemade dinner date. Figure out what his favorite meal is, or maybe just do whatever you think would taste best. Go all out, apps, entree, dessert, drink pairings.

It will be so much more intimate than going to a restaurant and showcases your ability to make good eats happen.

Full text: Like seriously his parents are filthy rich. He gets everything he wants and I just need some ideas on something to get him for Christmas that won’t outshine his present, he got me a $100 something diffuser. I’m thinking cologne but then I found out his mum buys him fragrances in bulk. For his birthday last year (before I knew him) my dad got him a $100 voucher and he didn’t even use it. My family makes candy (English toffee, peppermint bark) around the holidays. Always nice. You could also invite him over for a homecooked meal.

My husband only likes practical stuff for gifts. Protein powder, a dash cam, books he's mentioned before, etc.

My sister once handmade me memorabilia from a video game I liked. If he has a Steam account, wishlists are usually public when you're friends. A co-op game might be fun (Overcooked is popular for couples, as is Stardew Valley).
