True, that is the story that RP likes to tell, to get you to agree to “the basic deal” as you describe it. Even in that short paragraph there are some pretty big assumptions, starting with the first sentence. “Men are not respected in the west.” Not respected by whom? What does this lack of respect look like? What observations lead you to this conclusion? Is it because they are men? Are there other people who are not respected? How and why?

My experience as a man has been that people generally respect me when I respect them in return. I can earn respect by my actions. I have certainly been not respected by people for no legitimate reason, often this happens on the internet and/or because those people are immature or foolish. Understanding this, it’s usually not worth interacting with them (esp. in real time). I know many other people who aren’t men who also do not always get the respect they feel they deserve, I don’t find that problem to be specific to men.

Idk, are other people really told that? Who says stuff like that? All I hear about the red pill is people laughing about how men can't deal with their emotions in a healthy way. Not that they're not capable of it. Anger is also an emotion and no one will deny it to a man.

This is just another silly red pill rant, and likely from someone who got bored with everyone in an RP forum sitting around agreeing with these tired talking points. “Men are not respected in the west”…you post this without any evidence, claiming there’s no way to prove it’s not true. It’s not even a credible argument. So I guess everyone here is supposed to waste time trying to convince another hopeless RP conspiracy theorist who’s just looking for attention?

The only thing the red pill did was exploit you. As someone who’s served in the military for over a decade and witnessed what men losing their humanity looks like in real life, your claim about the alleged benefit of doing that reads like someone who’s just ranting from their bedroom about a world they know very little about. There’s no magic pill that makes “hurt” go away. Pain is a part of life. You either work through it and move forward, or don’t and wind up in your situation. Pick a struggle.

I beg to differ. In recent years men have been put down by misandrists. The red pill however is a cheap way to promote abuse towards women. Being a man and wanting respect is fine as long as you don't demand such. Be a man worthy of it: Be kind, genuine and work on yourself. In time you will find the right people who will lift you up.

I empathize with you trying to get out of the stereotypes and the limitations you feel are imposed on you. Know that everyone feels variations of this— men AND women.

We face different difficulties based on how people expect us to behave, but the comments that you’re getting here are that people on both sides of the aisle who have experience both with passionate redpill ideology and passionate anti-redpill ideology don’t feel that they’ve been perceived in the same way. Men are often told that they’re weak for expressing emotion in some way, but it seems like people here have not been told that they’re faking enough to ingrain it. Can I ask where you’ve gotten these messages?

I’ll also say that if you see redpill as an advertised way to lose your humanity, they’re lying to you. Nothing can make you lose your humanity, and you’ll have those feelings and insecurities and regrets until you let them find their way out to manage them in a healthy, productive way. There’s no simple, one note solution, which redpill tries to sell. That’s why human emotions are so complicated, messy, and difficult.

Men are often bursting at the seams with emotions because of how they’ve been limited in expression, but as someone who’s very involved in gender discussions in feminism, men’s rights, and redpill groups alike, I don’t think that most people are going to tell you that you’re incapable of human emotion if you work to let out what you’re feeling.

Is there some kind of help that would be productive for you? You’re very real and worthy of respect (as is everyone), and it seems like you need to get some stuff out that you haven’t had the ability to in the past. I’m happy to help you work through where it might be productive to go with this.

Men have been sold a cartoonish version of themselves. Shallow things that are interested in nothing more than beer, t…ies and football. A man with a poetic soul will not see himself here.
