Is a man trying or pretending to be friends with a particular woman in the hopes that it becomes romantic?

Then he's not using her sex, but he is lying to her about their friendship

There's nothing wrong with men desiring sex, and there's nothing wrong with men desiring relationships. I don't think that inherently means he's looking to use women.

That said.

It must be true for some men, or else they wouldn't constantly lament how the only way they can get sex is in a relationship, or act like relationships are so undesirable because it's "payment" for what "Chad got for free."

I take these men at their word when they act like relationships are a huge burden and penalty to them that they endure for access to pussy. I wouldn't date these men, but I acknowledge they exist and by their own words they just want to use women for sex.

I haven’t seen this. I can’t imagine anyone thinking a man wanting a romantic relationships in addition to friendships means he’s just trying to use women for sex? Now when some people might say that is if a man says things like “I don’t see any point in being friends with women if you’re not fucking them,” and generally acting like a woman only seeing you as a friend is the worst.

The men who post stuff like this are most likely socially awkward and unable to discern social situations. You can make friends with women hoping that you hit it off with someone and develop a relationship. There is nothing wrong with that. You can discern that a romantic relationship is not in the books, and distance yourself if it hurts emotionally.

But what is wrong and what women get upset about is when men get rejected by the women and instead of exiting with grace and distancing themselves or finding new women to socialize with, they go on unhinged and angry rants about the friendzone or stay in a friendship while filled with resentment. Or they go online and rage.

Most single women past the age of 25 or so know that the guys they were making friends with may want to ask them out in the future. Most of us know that if we are both single, and roughly the same age group and meeting somewhere social, that there is going to be at least a slight consideration about dating.

No, I don't think he's using women for sex if he has friends and is still looking for a sexual/romantic relationship, that just sounds like a normal person. Now, he can have female friends AND use other women, who aren't his friends, he could also have female friends AND try to use some of them for sex But just having friends and looking for a romantic partner? That's pretty standard.
