Eureka! If only I'd known all I need to do is be myself and talk to women normally to suddenly acquire the ability to nonverbally attract a girls attention at a club, escalate in a carefully calibrated way, befriend her interloping friends enough to isolate her, know how to handle any objections or hindrances, escalate physically and logistically then contrive a reason to return home hat ha plausible deniability, adopt the right frame of mind once home, subtly initiate foreplay then sex, know how to treat her afterwards, and be able to apply this to various contexts and dynamics.

What a load of shit.

If I'm being myself I wouldn't even be anywhere near a night club unless I'm on ecstasy or there's a DJ I want to see playing, I'd be at a friends house playing guitar or at home reading, and if I did go out I'd be trying to have conversations about philosophy and world news and shit with some drunken bimbo because that's the stuff I'm actually interested in talking about; I wouldn't be boldly trying to touch her because I don't like making women uncomfortable, I wouldn't be disqualifying, running shit tests, going hot and cold and all that bullshit, I wouldn't be trying to drag her away from her friends, I wouldn't be trying to fuck her whilst she's drunk - and I wouldn't get anywhere beyond a short conversation and at most a number which never turns into a date.

I think I'm funny, interesting and good looking but being me does not get me laid unless the girl throws herself on me which only happens once in a blue moon.

I assume any guy who preaches this advice must be a natural Casanova or one of those guys who appears aloof and a geeky but 'just somehow happens' to end up sleeping with every women he meets because most guy when they're being themselves are not sexy, they're mostly logical, they're cold, they're the sort of thing a girl might appreciate months into a relationship, not early on.

Besides, try going with this approach and some peacocking dickhead will strut over and pull some flamboyant move and next thing you know the girl you were talking to is interested in this fun loudmouth or some jealous prick who's read the game and wants to try and flex his skills by stealing her away despite the fact that it's all an act and you're probably a more competent person and a better partner than him. Attraction isn't logical and we suck at choosing partners - especially young women.

Of course we should try to be as authentic and congruent as possible, but some of the advice here simply states that all a man needs to do is be unapologetically true to himself and the women will come to him...sure 1 in 100 women will love you for who you are but chances are you're not gonna meet them if you're not trying to pursue huge numbers of women anyway.

People will say ok so go and be yourself at a library or join a meetup group or something...be real now, the chances of meeting someone that way are incredibly slim, and again, if your personality isn't one that naturally leads to getting sexy with people then how is that going to help besides making a friend? Or they'll say be the best version of yourself....what if that best version is still an introvert that doesn't enjoy going out, and still doesn't make bold moves?

I'm not advocating to operate with a facade and yes it's important to be authentic if you want to find a compatible long term partner, but I'm also not gonna accept this nonsense about how being yourself is the secret elixir that will make women flock to you.
