What I’ve noticed is that dating advice is incredibly general. I’ve seen people give business advice that got straight to the point, sports advice etc. It seems that dating advice is the only type of advice that assumes you know what the person meant (which also means you didn’t need their advice 😂)
How did you learn how to talk to women, and avoid mistakes? Especially since when you mess up, people aren’t going to give feedback?
[–]Skizznitt 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The thing is, dating advice can't really be super specific to be valid. Every situation is different, every girl is different. While some more generic advice will work, the same specific things you talked about or did that worked for one date, probably won't even be applicable on the next. Being successful at dating is being able to feel the situation out, being able to read her body language to see what topics or tactics work and what don't, and being able to think on your toes and change things up if what you're doing isn't generating the response you wanted.
Really only the generic things like having confidence in yourself, getting her to talk about herself, be able to read her body language, try to create sexual tension through your words or by adding light physical touch etc. work in every situation, but the actual interactions will be different every time.
Another reason why generic advice really is the only valid advice is what works for one guy, with his set of looks, style and personality may not work for another guy, you have to learn what works for YOU. Mainly the important thing is just going out and creating your own experience, get comfortable interacting with women, don't be afraid of failure or rejection or to try new things, it happens to literally everyone, and learn what works for you.

One last question. I have a list of YouTubers I’m considering, but it’s a massive list of 20 or so. Any recommendations for me to see first?

Alex James (Alex Social) is the only healthy perspective I've seen on youtube. His inner game, NRYNE courses are great for getting a healthy inner confidence. Everybody else has some kind of neurosis or narcissistic personality disorder.

Seriously Jesus christ. I should not have listened to my ex nearly as much as I did.

What advice did they give yall?
[–]tocepsijufaz 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Everyone is different, what works for you might not work for someone else.

Women are humans. We are not some special breed of person who has a algorithm on how receptive we are to certain speech.
Just be yourself, be a genuine person, be inquisitive and ask them questions about themselves and actually listen to the answers and ask follow-up questions, be kind, be thoughtful, be considerate and conversation. Be observant, notice the things they like the things they are wearing, remember the things the person talks about. Remember the names of their pets, or their siblings, and and ask questions about those persons and pets by name later in the conversation.
The keynote here is listen, be thoughtful, remember, and call back their interests, thoughts and feelings. The man I've met in my life who I remember more than anyone else are the ones who do this.
And just remember also that when you are being yourself, if you get a negative response, you need to process later why that may have happened. And don't say stuff like that anymore. Over time, you will grow and evolve as a person, and your social skills and communication skills will evolve.
Talking to a woman is just talking to another person. Treat them with the kindness and respect. Listen with care . Remember facts. Repeat them back in the form of being inquisitive about the person's life.

Hahaha, lol. Thanks for the feedback.

Point blank biggest difference I've noticed.. if a dude doesn't want to talk to you.. you might get five sentences before you just down right get ignored.
If a girl doesn't like you, in general, they just treat you worse and worse until you "get the hint".

You can't expect free advice from a stranger to be the magic pill that fixes your situation.
[–]tastless_chill_tonic 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
anyone will respond better when you response is something that is relevant for the time, place, person, etc. that is where the "anything" comes in.
People will always be able to tell rehearsed or memorized speech vs. genuine, the problem is the latter is difficult until you fail a couple times at it.

"Filler words" are conversation and mood killers. This is because they are either boring or approval seeking or both; they are used to fill silences.
What do I mean by that?
I mean saying polite (she is wearing x, you say "x suits you") or excessive "active listening" phrases that rephrase what you were told but that themselves contribute nothing to the conversation. In my experience nothing has dried up my sets faster than this.

Huh... What have you been saying when you're saying anything?
Cuz it sounds like you're calling they'r mothers a bitch or something LOL

Even the most basic, harmless corny lines have made women 180 on me. I met a girl by the pool, and she helped me out with my sunscreen by spraying my back. I got her IG, and she was initially friendly with me. After I DM'd her
"Hey [Name]. Nice meeting you today, and thanks again for helping me maintain a perfect tan 🙂"
that same night, I noticed that she began to avoid my gaze and act unfriendly with me from then on out.

Yah, theres no coming back from that.
I agree, and BTW that was hilarious and spot on.
As a guy who's used to society's double standards (they hate helping men, but love when men are good with women), I'm fired up and ready to force myself to upgrade with women, I don't give a shit anymore.
Should I just unfollow her or would unfollowing make me look like a hurt bitch?
[–]SeanBatemanJr 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would say no, a lot of times girls stop responding, sometimes even accidentally, not because your message was received that badly. You should write her some more times now and again with something more interesting, maybe more aggressive, if she doesn’t respond multiple times, you can call her on it jokingly, like saying «If you don’t know how to type I can teach you» (not saying this is the best, just came up with it off top of my head, but it seems good enough because it’s a statement, not a question and creates a little pressure to respond somehow, not be silent again).
[–]Environmental_Cress2 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
ehhh you’re response wasn’t bad. She just wasn’t interested. If your irl talk was sexualized and you later texted that with a flirty/playful emoji, then I would say you did really good.
Cause it communicates interest and potentially bridges to a sexual convo
[–]ShiftReasonable4066 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As long as you dont say anything off putting that warrants an apology. You can say whatever. Its all a numbers game in who's going to be receptive. It's never a repudiation of you. So dont take it personal
[–]AloofusMaximus 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well you can't say "anything" that comes to mind, but you CAN talk about anything you want. Though how and when you brooch certain topics very much depends on your social skills and rapport with her.
If women are actually responding to you in an awkward manner or are cringing, something with the way you're talking to them is REALLY off.
Can you give an example of what kind of stuff you're saying?
[–]Choice-Welder1482 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have been going out with a girl recently. I started asking her about a situation with her ex... it was a little uncomfortable but then she told me it was OK for asking and said "no question is a stupid question". And I said "ok then. Would you eat only hot dogs for 1 year if you were paid 500k?"
She's still interested in me. And it's a genuine question. It's the type of question my guy friends might ask me or vice versa.
Lmao! Great misdirection!
[–]lostAndN0tFound 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What I believe when someone says “say anything” is that while talking to someone don’t fabricate your dialog to a point where it becomes obvious that you’re trying to hit on them or trying to be nice with ulterior motive, no matter how benign that motive is. Be casual in that sense. Don’t be too cautious that you’re thinking of what to say next, you won’t enjoy the conversation yourself, it’ll become a task than a fun activity. If you’re enjoying it, there is a higher chance that the other person will also enjoy it, higher the chance of you guys clicking it. Just don’t force anything, if you’re able to flirt then cool else just have a meaningful fun conversation. Who knows the other person might be just looking for a good conversation.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In terms of the rudeness level, you definitely shouldn’t say something you wouldn’t say to your friend. Some girls like banter, nobody likes insults. Good quality women will mentally throw you into the trashcan as soon as you start negging.
[–]CompetitionFair7686 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
You can say anything assuming you have enough social intelligence to not say something creepy like “i want to put chloroform on your nose and take you home”.
Yes there are limits, but when people say “anything” what they mean is that you don’t need some crazy elaborate thing that requires a whole university degree.
Topics can be like the situation you are in that moment like the environment, the people around you, the club, her clothing style, her career or studies, her drink, her favourite movies, feelings, etc
It doesn’t mean that you can talk however about how you plan on raping her or moelsting her or kidnapping her. If you can’t even come to this simple conclusion without people having to break it down for you, then you are a danger to society.
[–]BeautifulTomatillo -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would also stray from saying anything sexually explicit
[–]3SidedDie -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
can day anything
*Can say
Some of that refers to confidence, and rapport with girl, it’s not what you say it’s how you say it.

[–]TheRealDJ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Part of it isn't exactly what you're saying, but how you're saying it. If you can making a random line like "You know carrots are good for your eyes right?" and make it cool and flirty, then boom, you have an opening line.

Im which sense? Please elaborate.
During hook-up it is always better to pay attention to what you are saying. You can be spontaneous but choosing "the best" version of yourself.
As you create intimacy and connection, you can drop your "best self", by progressively showing also the other sides of you.
However the process is slow, a long roadmap and several important milestones:)
