Dude, what do you have to lose? Really?
Agree for the most part. There are some instances I see on here where a dude will approach anyone with a pulse on their college campus. If you're not tactical or selective, it could easily brand you as a creep and fuck up your social life.

exactly, the dudes that dont care are actually shooting themselves in the foot, because it shows to the girls that you got no standards and only want sex.

Tbh, I approached probably 750-1000 girls on my 30,000 person college campus when I was there, and the worst social consequence I ever saw was a girl in my friend group warning my ex against dating me because she (sorta accurately) perceived I had a thing for Asian women (the ex didn’t break up with me over that)… and that was only because I made the mistake of approaching within my social circle a couple of times.
I’m not saying not to try to manage your reputation on campus, I was likely foolish and got very lucky that mine survived 2 years of hardcore cold approaching, just sharing my experience. I think cold approach can be done safely on large college campuses, you just have to pick and choose your moments (maybe set a limit on approaches per week), not run game in your classes/social circle, try to game different spots, have good facial recognition (so you don’t approach the same girl twice), and don’t use any one particular line or routine (try to make the connections seem situational and spur of the moment).

I think it would brand you as creepy not if you’re the one who talks to everyone but the one who talks to everyone but doesn’t know HOW to talk, so is creepy in words & behaviour, etc..

Or trying to hijack a girl your friend opened, some of these guys are a bunch of vultures.

Sounds like he’s hyping himself up.
[–]warloo1 34 points35 points36 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Approach anxiety can be a bitch sometimes, no matter how much you live off the hype
[–]nbh1995 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The solution to anxiety is action.
[–]ActionEve 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes for sure. When you do go face on and approach, often times it’s not what it was built up to be in our head.
[–]putcoolusernamehere 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The biggest fear I always hear is men are afraid of getting canceled. And I just think that’s super exaggerated. I’ve done like 1000 approaches, many of them awkward as hell, and I don’t think I’ve had any major long term social consequences from it. Worst case, you can just move to another city and start over, and 99.9 times out of 100, that won’t be necessary.

my first time approaching someone in 2013 left me so scared that i developed social anxiety, depression, and was almost killed by her big brother (literally i was hung from a bridge onto a train track) ......please tell me again that worse can happen is a "No"
[–]kyrensolo 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Was her brother in a gang or something? I don’t think that’s a normal occurrence
[–]Faux_bog 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
i was 14, the brother was 21ish, big star at uni (some sport), had a bunch of guys backing him. I know its not normal, but its not even the worst part about the rejection. Everyone in school knew what happened and i was outcasted by whole school.....no one talked to me for 3 years, lost my social skills. i cant approach anyone else cause im always reminded of being outcasted....and thats way worse
[–]kyrensolo 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Damn sorry man.
[–]dobbs1997 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How exactly did the approach go? what did you say? how and where did you do it ?

I don’t think someone willing to kill someone else over a approach is the best person to fight with

You were a victim of a crime by a psychotic person. This is not a common experience one will encounter when doing respectful daygame approaches.

Fn a right. I'll personally talk to any girl about any random crap and it almost always goes well. People are just people.

I dunno lol. Yeah, I've always been a bitch. There was this chick at the gym that I found attractive and had a crush on. She talked to me one day. I folded like a cheap suit and got nervous. Never talked to her again
I don't mind rejection. But I'm always insecure about being viewed as a creep. There's a few guys at the gym who have that status. So I tend to keep my head down and not talk to anybody and keep to myself so I don't risk that kind of reputation.
[–]WhiteningMcClean 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The harsh reality is that most guys who don't start dating at a young age are going to be seen as a creep at least once. I guarantee that some of the girls I tried talking to freshman year of college thought I was creepy because I was still figuring things out.
Just don't make any sexual comments, and most importantly keep things brief. If a woman feels like you're holding her hostage, she's way more likely to label you a creep. Chat her up for a few minutes, ask her if she wants to grab drinks/lunch/hang out, then let her get back to her business and text her later on.
[–]FiftyNereids 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It’s a bit different at gyms, the etiquette is like you mentioned, people rarely talk to each other because that’s the unspoken rule.
Not saying you can’t approach women at a gym but chances are they will think you’re a creep if you do so. They also may think you’re annoying because they’re there to workout, not to flirt (though this depends on the individual as well).
[–]ActionEve 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Hey man, hold your head up high. Nothing in this world should make you feel inadequate of yourself especially when it comes to talking to woman. You are important and need to feel that inside yourself!
Realize that you are enough as is, and work on having casual conversations WITHOUT sexual intentions in mind and let the conversations FLOW. Ask questions about themselves.

It's tough out there for a shy dude. People think you are weird for being single. They always ask why you are single. But when you are dating a girl (or just having a girl nearby you tbh), all the sudden everyone (guys and girls) wants to get close to you and be friends with you. It's easier to fold into your own hobbies and world and avoid the disappointment.
I folded when my gym crush talked to me and I pretend I don't see her anymore, because I'm a bitch but also because I wanted to avoid the consequences. I hate being part of gossip circle and that's always what happens when dating/flirting in these kinds of environments.
Just saying, I think there's more to being scared to talking to woman other than the feeling of inadequacy or fear of rejection.

I’ve never approached a girl in person, and certainly not a stranger. I’m not very funny yet and I lost my personality when after a few traumatic relationships, mostly caused by me. Now being 20 and seeing all these stories about girls being creeped out by people approaching them in public and my stuttering makes it very difficult for me to approach a girl especially since I don’t know how to escalate or be charming in the slightest. Hopefully this sub will help me change that
I feel like this comes from you not fully knowing yourself, like if you KNOW who you are then you should know you’re not creepy and you’d be fine with going up and saying hello & even if she were to say you’re creepy it wouldn’t even move you.
