Just because I'm ripped doesn't mean women approach me more often then they did before, all it does is open doors. I still have to do the work, that's the part of being a man, approaching, handling situations and circumstances and pursuing things you want.

Women who can see that you're ripped can see that you're a much better catch than the blob standing over there, it doesn't mean they're gonna throw themselves at you. These are all factors that add up together. Put your buddy and some one who is proper ripped beside each other infront of women they don't know, attractiveness wise your bud already lost that game, and first impressions are huge. Your skinny af friend however maybe more approachable because of his non-threatening feminine physique, but that doesn't apply to us because we aren't looking for women to approach us anyway, we're doing the approaches. What being fit did for me was discipline and putting myself first in all situations. Banging 8's and 9's became easier, there's less shit tests overall (in the beginning) where it counts.

You need to work on your confidence and game, women are never going to throw themselves at you and you hopefully you will realize that on your journey.

Let me tell you a fucking story.

When I emerged from Monk Mode, I was in excellent shape. The first thing I did was drop $50 on a killer haircut. I wasn't dressed to the nines; just good jeans, casual shoes, and a well-fitted t-shirt.

I was wearing shades, which allowed me to notice that: holy shit, I was no longer invisible to women. 60% of women actually checked me out. Not all of them liked me, but at least I was on the damn radar.

That's what fitness gives you. That, plus grooming and decent clothes. With that, you can actually open an 8 and have a chance of it going well.

Remember that a 'nice face' usually means they are not overweight, so that's part of being fit right there.

Muscles absolutely do help. Maybe less than face...but you can do more about muscles than face, so get lifting (more).

Plus the health and posture benefits.

I play in a band and am around a big music scene in my city. Having huge muscles would actually diminish my results with girls. The muscle look doesn’t is really work for us music guys.

I've been going to the gym over the last few months and have noticed some gains despite being still a relative noobie (bigger chest, slightly bigger biceps and triceps, etc.). I honestly don't think the physical component will help me much, but being "bigger" makes me feel more in control and confident, and having that aura will help with picking up girls. I also feel like I'm doing something with my life and that makes me happy.

It's the extra boost that separates you from the pack. If you're not an autist and have some game, that already separates you. Now add on the fact that you have nice arms and abs....you just flew past the pack.

Plus, its vital for maximizing health and longevity. You can't lose with having muscle and lifting. Lifting is like brushing your teeth, it shouldn't even be discussed as an option.

Lifting and muscle mass is never going to be a detractor to anything.

When I was 17 I was buff as fuck. I could pull a lot of girls in the club and got complimented a lot. Then there was a period of 1 year where I broke my arm and after that I stopped working out until I'm 20. During that period I had a way harder time pulling girls. Now I workout again since February and pulling girls is way easier now. So yeah.. muscled are useful! It's true what you said though about the handsome guys with twig arms pulling girls..

TBH I've experience somewhat the same. From what I've observed it all comes down to frame. However, height and a good build will make your frame stronger unless you're a social retard. But the face is most important in terms of looking good. I had a friend who was skinny af and had a semi-attractive face, but his frame and IDGAF attitude was through the roof and he slayed pussy like a warlord.

Most people will look bad with too much muscle, but "too much muscle" depends a lot on your standard for muscles. To me, Arnold and the bodybuilders from his time have the perfect amount of muscle, but the Olympia winners of today have too much. A lot of people will find Arnold's proportions ugly and exaggerated. That is why you should lift for yourself. Look a way that gets you proud of who you are. Many women are into the super macho look, but some may not be.

Finally, it is very rare for someone to look better without any muscle than without, but in some cases just a little might be better than a lot. For example Justin Bieber looked better after he started working out, and could probably fuck most women back then, but Jeff Seid (who looks like a jacked Justin Bieber) doesn't appeal to all kinds of women.

There are a lot of good points in this thread.

All other things the same, you're better off having muscle than not having muscle. You with five pounds more muscle is better than you as you are now, all other things the same.
A lot of gymbros are overcompensating. I'm convinced that the population of guys that works out is a good 2 inches shorter on average than the average male. A lot of them do seem to have unattractive faces. The same can be said about women, though I think the phenomena is stronger with women.
Taking from the previous, that gymming is stronger with butterface women, if we extend that to men, and say that Chads are treated like average women in many ways, then it's not surprising that neither Chads nor pretty women seem to seriously gym. At least, if Chads 'gym' it comes on top of a lifetime of playing sports.
Women are afraid/shy around big guys. Women are friendly and outgoing with thinner/smaller guys that outwardly project high social status. They basically see these guys as the same as their friend group. Notice that this isn't the same thing as being friendzoned or a beta orbiter, which is a more emotionally invested BF that she doesn't have to fuck. Back to big guys though. They aren't as chatty or aggressive with bigger guys unless they feel like the have a handle on who he is.
